  1. I’m an LpN in MN and work at a hospital as a LPN SCRUB Tech. On OB PEDs which means 1. My main job is the OB suite for c sections (which isn’t a lot) 2. taking patient assignments (I can have 6. Or rather I can have 12 - WITH AN RN BUDDY) they give me all sorts of patients (ms overflow, peds, resp peds, post partum, ante, etc) I have to be very careful to not overstep my license and do things that are not in my scope. 3. I help aaaallllllllllll the other RNs manage their patient assignments- I attend all deliveries, I take care of anything they need- I do the placenta and path and cord and blood etc 4 I scrub in as the surg tech for sections, and other OB stuff 5. I can be the 2nd staff in the special care nursery and have assignment in there (lots of NAS) It’s prob easier if I tell you what I don’t do …… it’s a lot. I work with amazing RNs who are highly efficient and quick and I still bust my *** despite them not needing much LOL im always afraid lpns will be on the chopping blocks for downsizing- but the RNs all agree they need us :) q
