Switching specialties StaRn
Hello all, I have a dilemma. I accepted an hca job in the OR and I really realized the OR is not my cup of tea. I've been in the Program almost 3 months. I want out and I want on to the floor. I am unable to just take another job because I stupidly took the sign on bonus. Has anyone switched specialties in the starn program?

Hard decision.
OK so, I have a very strange decision to make. I started a new grad home health program while waiting for my residency for the OR to start. It was going to be a few months and I couldn't be making no money in the meantime. I fully intended to quit once my residency started, which it does on March 27th. I got a call from the home health company asking me to come in for an interview to be a nursing supervisor....which shocked me and I thought they mistakenly called me instead of someone else but I entertained it and went. They said they have never hired a newer nurse for thu8s position before but they would extensively train me and that they chose me instead of one of the more experienced field nursesbecause of my personality and communication skills, and that the paperwork that goes along with this position is easy to be taught. It's not a very hands on patient care position, you do assessments on your patients once a week. The pay is great and they have great benefits, bonuses, and mileage expenses. It's hybrid after orientation so I could work from home 3 days a week. On the other hand the OR position also has good benefits and they pay for the bachelors and student loans. I would be on call, and I'm not sure the hours but I signed up for 5 8's. I'm so confused on what to do I was so excited for the OR, but now think this other opportunity would be the best for me. Any advice?

Hca staRN OR residency
Hi guys, I'm a new grad and accepted an offer at hca. Before anyone says anything I'm aware of the reputation but I like what hca has to offer as far as benefits. Anyway, can anyone let me know what to expect as far as the residency for OR? I'm in the gulf coast division, starting March 27. One of the reasons I want to work in the or is the 8 hr shifts, which they said they could give me. Any input on what shifts yall work after the classes? And do I need blue scrubs for classes since I will wear hospital scrubs? Is the coursework very demanding and should I wait to register for my RN to BSN? Thanks!

Hey guys, I have an interview with Ben taub hospital next week. Wondering if anyone has accepted an offer with them, and if they have a sign on bonus, what kind of benefits they offer, starting pay, and anything else pertinent! Thanks!

Nurse residency at memorial hermann
Hello! I am graduating in December and had an interview at memorial hermann for match day yesterday. I thought it went really well and I recently received an email that said application received. I thought it was odd so I checked my workday and it had created a new application that said in offer process, but I haven't heard anything from them. I was wondering if anyone has had the same experience, and did you receive an offer? It was so competitive. Thanks!
