NICU to Postpartum
Has anyone ever transitioned roles from Nicu nurse to Postpartum nurse? I love working with the babies but have a growing passion for lactation and love the education piece. Was thinking going to postpartum would be a nice idea so I could care for new moms and continue newborn care. would love to hear from people who have done this or something similar!

CNM/PNP
Hello all, has anyone ever heard of a Dual CNM/PNP program? University of Michigan is the only school that I can find that has this program and I was just wondering if anyone has any other schools? or if anyone has attended this program and would like to share about future outcomes, I would love to hear it! my big outlandish goal would be to one day help my community and working with my hospital to help establish a women and infants clinic for prenatal/postpartum and newborn/lactation needs. thank you!

FNP vs WHNP
Hi Rose_Queen, thank you so much for your response! I have looked into the NNP role, I currently work in a NICU and and interact with the NPs everyday. This role is strictly inpatient from what I have observed and they mostly deal with the baby once it has been born. Also it seems very stressful! ? not to say other NPs are not however

FNP question
Does anyone know if fetal care/prenatal care can be covered by an FNP? Since I know the FNP model is the lifespan, while my understanding is a WHNP is women's life span not "pediatric" like fetal development. Thank you!

FNP vs WHNP
I am constantly in debate about attending a master's program. I have always wanted to be an NP since the beginning of nursing school, but choosing the right program seems daunting. My interests are heavily involved with newborn/infants and OB care. I have thought about Nurse Midwife but I do not know if having the on-call/24hour shift schedule would benefit my family life. Ideally I would love to do Antepartum/Prenatal and postpartum care outpatient. So I am debating WHNP but I don't think they can see infants, so that leads me to FNP. Most of my friends who did FNP want to do adult primary and don't have a specific interest so that's why I don't know about this one. However I do like that there is more options in terms of schooling for FNP. If anyone has any advice in terms of programs or career path I would greatly appreciate it! I have
