  1. Thank you. I take your 1:3 ratio as a possibly typo. Other per diem offers received: LTC $47/hr, ratio 1:20, five weeks orientation, supervisor/ charge functions sometimes. Hospital $50/ hr with $5-6 differential, will get info on ratio, etc. in the week. I really dread going back to acute, but the LTC ratios are daunting. I'll eventually pick my poison. All the best in whatever you choose.
  2. Allnursers, I'm seeking employment in Philadelphia, PA. I have a BSN with 4 years hospital experience. I've always dreaded LTC, but have considered it this time around. Had an interview at a LTC and was told that the max ratio is 1:20, per diem rate is $44, shift diff. $1. Minimum 2 days per month which can be the one weekend/ month) required. One week orientation with possibility for extension. Is this a reasonable offer in terms of ratio, per diem rate, orientation etc.? What is a competitive pay rate (per diem and full time) for my 4 years experience in med-surg and rehab? What are some of the better facilities (inpatient and outpatient) in and around Philadelphia with better ratio, orientation, salary etc.? Thanks
