  1. This post is a warning to anyone applying to CUI for future semesters. It is one of the worst experiences with a school I've had. The staff are difficult to work with, their requirements and expectations are not reasonable. Avoid this school if you can. They do not treat their students like people, everyone is just a number like cattle. They may have high NCLEX scores but so does almost every other school in California. It is not worth it.
  2. I had nutrition pending and it is still in progress and our classes started two weeks ago
  3. well a community college wouldn't cut it because I need an accelerated, second degree program, I have a bachelors already. I didn't apply to any other in-state schools, and even within state CUI is one of the cheaper ones for accelerated 2nd degree BSNs. Honestly I hate the curriculum and schedule of CUI ?
  4. Thanks - those theology classes sound horrible LOL. Yes I was accepted several other places but CUI is the most affordable.
  5. Someone said earlier they are work at your own pace so no they are not synchronous. Now that you are in your 3rd (?) semester, I'm wondering if you can give me an idea of what the class schedule is like? How long is each class, what does a typical day look like? Are there breaks, etc.
  6. thank you! yes I don't plan to be absent, however the first semester only has 2 classes and I have a work commitment (but there are only 2 days of classes so I doubt there'll be a conflict). And that's great about Hoag, I want to be placed there ? thanks!
  7. how does the program deal with absences?
  8. Correct, but every other ABSN program I've applied to/gotten into, takes your interests into account when placing you
  9. sooo...they don't foster your interests with clinical places? seems kind of messed up? I also find it odd they don't use Hoag when it's right there & the best hospital in the area...
  10. Hi! I was accepted for Fall semester. Wondering a few things... 1) when you take the online theology classes, are they scheduled at a certain time every day or do you do them on your own time but submit things by certain deadlines? The nursing classes that start later in 1st semester, how many days/week are those? 2) For clinical placements do you have any say in where you go? For ex. I can't go far because I take care of my mom.
  11. Curious - what was your reason for declining? I am in decision-mode...
