Hi!
I'm finishing up the prerequisites for nursing school, and I would love to work in the NICU due to family experiences. However, I am trying to figure out if I should go on to be a Neonatal NP afterwards. I am very interested in the decision making, however I would love to stay close to the patient and be hands on, and I have heard conflicting information of which would be better. For Neonatal NPs, did you prefer working at the bedside or as an NP?
Something that means a lot to me is also being able to do research, particularly in high risk obstetrics/MFM. Ideally, I would love to find a job where I could do research but also provide hands on care in the NICU. What would you recommend for this?
Thank you guys!
