Hi everyone! I am interested in being a Nurse Practitioner, but I have a question about it. I am interested in both Neonatology and MFM; is it possible for a nurse practitioner to work in both? Perhaps with a NNP certification and MFM experience? Could something like that work? I'm also interested in research, so I would love to work in both if at all possible. Thank you guys!

Hi! I'm finishing up the prerequisites for nursing school, and I would love to work in the NICU due to family experiences. However, I am trying to figure out if I should go on to be a Neonatal NP afterwards. I am very interested in the decision making, however I would love to stay close to the patient and be hands on, and I have heard conflicting information of which would be better. For Neonatal NPs, did you prefer working at the bedside or as an NP? Something that means a lot to me is also being able to do research, particularly in high risk obstetrics/MFM. Ideally, I would love to find a job where I could do research but also provide hands on care in the NICU. What would you recommend for this? Thank you guys!
