I got abnormal result not positive or negative. Alcohol was my issue. I've been sober over a year and read all labels. Will I get a report or will the board consider it a positive? I'm in a monitoring program.

Does anyone one know if one needs their license back in the future, is it easier to get it back from a disciplinary or surrendered status? Right now I’m in a non healthcare occupation and am happy. However you never know. My discipline would be reporting to duty no patient care performed but positive for alcohol. thx

Yep your correct. With my new job which has nothing to do with healthcare. I could complete 2 months of IOP but not the third and I was told that my job was not an excuse to shorten by 4 weeks. Guess the nursing shortage isn’t that bad.

Things have gotten tricker. I haven’t done the assessment yet and this non healthcare position fell into my lap. I was raised to do this kind work and it’s always has been a hobby of mine. The problem is that if the assessment says that I have to complete IOP I don’t what that time commitment is and this job is very structured and disciplined. I may not even have the time to do that part.

If you are a nurse that has to enter ATP and have a non healthcare job will they work with you on the drug screens?

Do you have to tell the school about the alternative program? Clinical can be with social workers and counselors.

If you are in an alternate discipline program and it’s time for your MH NP clinicals can you do them? They can be completely with a social worker and can be in a rehab facility.

I’m going to have to enter it. Was it expensive?

Are you younger or older? I’m on admin leave until they figure out what to do. I work in a psych hospital. I’m in my earlier 50’s. I just don’t know if it’s worth it. In that amount of time I could be a counselor.
