Hello,
I'm new to this site so I hope I'm using this right. I am currently a pre-student scheduled to enroll in nursing school in a few years. My goal is to become a Certified Nurse Midwife it's been a dream of mine since I was about ten. In order for me to get my CNM I need my BSN and a few years of work experience. My original plan was to go to school and get my BSN and then work for a few years before heading back to school to try and get my CNM. But lately I've been wondering if it would be possible for me to be a L&D Nurse first and then go back to school to get my CNM.
My question how can I become a L&D Nurse with a BSN degree? Would it take more school time? Or could I simply go to school for a BSN and choose L&D as my specialty and get a job as a L&D Nurse?
