  1. OK that makes sense too!! I know the waiting period is the hardest
  2. @Milo8 @FolakeoI hate to hear some haven't heard back from UTSW as of yet.. the recruiter emails those selected based on the hiring managers sections in each unit. I personally would suggest to hold off for a week or so because it is still early.
  3. I know the feeling but I would just send them an email and communicate to them that you would like to take some to consider all your options to make the best decision. Ask when is the latest you can sign the paperwork. They know students apply to multiple places plus I don't like contracts either. One of my nurse friends told me to chose the unit that's my first choice. The unit at UTSW was my second choice.
  4. I did... I had 4 total (virtual), 2 pending (1 in person the other one virtual)… I decided to accept an offer other than UTSW
  5. The recruiter said $30.91 starting for all NRP students across the board
  6. I will say acute med folks were very nice and easy to talk to.. if I can remember correctly there are 10 different units for med surg and they tend to over hire... the recruiter mentioned the hiring managers are working on opening actual positions right now but did extend an "unofficial offer" until they have all the details. Good luck on your interview!
  7. Woah IDK Parkland had a 18-3 year contract that's crazy smh
  8. IKR?! I have my second one later today ??
  9. not yet but I have mine this week.. did you have yours?
  10. well I would send one email and specify which dates/time for each unit and clarify if the interview is with the same hiring manager or not. (hope this makes sense)
  11. OK I just received 2 more interviews including ED and Acute Med too! ? ?
  12. Nice!! Well that's still great news ☺️
  13. Congrats to you too!! Unfortunately no it wasn't my first choice (specialty units) but I've always wanted to work at UTSW so it's OK. Were you selected for your number one choice?
  14. Same I just got an email too! I'm so excited ??
  15. I get it! the only thing that's keeping me from thinking about it too much is school (LOL)
  16. No I havent... Their deadline for applications is on the 29th. I'm thinking they will wait until it closes and then reach out to chosen applicants.
  17. I wish I knew UTSW timeline... below is another program's breakdown so you can use this as a reference... Application date: may 7th – 18th Talent acquisition (recruiting) and hiring managers: may 20th – may 26th In-person/virtual match week: June 5th – June 9th Accepted to the program or not 4 business days after match week
  18. I applied earlier this morning, hoping to hear back for an interview for my top choices .. good luck everyone!! :-)
  19. I can imagine!! It seems like this topic is very underrated and forums similar to this is proof that we are feeling the weight of our decisions (or the lack thereof) from our past but we are learning to embrace less than ideal situations until things shift in our favor. I want to encourage you to still pursue your dreams! I have several classmates who are much older than me so there’s still opportunity if you are able to take the plunge?
  20. That is very true! And no I never take my parents help for granted. The journey I had to take just to get me to this point is a daily reminder of my many blessings. I will always be forever grateful ?
  21. Yes it is very accelerated but it’s because one course ended in the middle of the second course. Thankfully after clinical training the schedule changes completely and is more open ?? I’m glad you found a cohort that worked for you! And thank you it seems like the new job is willing to work with my schedule so we shall see!
  22. I completely understand.. im 34 and had to move back. thankfully my family supports me as well. I don't like asking for money so I would try to avoid having to ask for anything because of the current situation. I also just received a job offer with a major hospital, less than 3 miles from my house, working 1-6pm 4 times a week and my mom doesn't want me to take it because of the demand of an accelerated program. I have to agree its pretty demanding we had 2 midterms and a final in a 7 day turn around (seriously)! so I'm having to really consider turning down the job offer because of the demand.
  23. OMG! I’m definitely going with McLennan versus WTAMU for the Bible based course!! I’m taking 2 courses at Lone Star and they were $270 each. I’m so glad both of you mentioned McLennan! I joined the facebook group (Baylor Distance ABSN 2022 Cohort) created by@bri2014!
