  1. Hey! Congrats! I did accept, but I actually just backed out because I got an offer from Methodist Dallas for their mixed ICU. But for the BON and fingerprinting.. I had to do it for my nursing program and they take a little to respond back, so don’t worry. If you just graduated I heard it takes them until June-ish to get our diploma information inputted so we can’t even take the NCLEX until after that. So you have time :)
  2. Hmm I’m not sure if it’s official, official. The manager offered me and said the official offer that I accept or decline will come from HR in about 2-3 weeks because they’re getting everything together. IDK what the best thing to do is either because I already accepted an offer from Baylor and am trying to figure out what to do. Baylor is non contract and on their offer it says I can terminate it at any point, so I assume Methodist will be the same. Best advice… ask the recruiter at Methodist what you can and can’t do.
  3. I heard that Methodist doesn’t have contracts. I got an offer from them but I don’t have the official one from HR so I’m not sure. A current resident there said she didn’t have one.
  4. Hi! I just interviewed for Methodist ICU.. and I do know they were waiting until last rounds of interviews to do offers, so you may be hearing back soon. The hiring manager in the ICU said they do contact for rejections as well. I’m assuming ED may be similar
  5. I was offered $29.50/hr for Neuro ICU at BUMC. (If you're a current baylor employee you get $31/hr). They said the base pay is $28 I believe for residency, but if you have previous hospital experience, I was a tech, that you get a little more. Six months after you pass your NCLEX you'll get another $1.50. I can't remember the differentials but they're around $3-5 each for nights and weekends, don't quote me exactly on that, I blacked out as soon as he said they want to offer you the spot haha
  6. I don't know if you've had your interview yet, but it'll be a few people from management on the floor. Nurse manager, unit based educator, floor manager, etc. They'll ask you a series of behavioral questions, mine were quite difficult (I interviewed for the ICU). They even asked me behavioral questions about experiences I wouldn't have had as a student (exp: "tell us about a time based off of a patients lab values or other results, you were able to catch something before it happened or before diagnosis"), but I did the best with what I was asked. I ended up getting the offer from Neuro ICU a few days after the interview. Good luck! My advice: research your floor, and practice a ton of questions. They do simple questions like tell us about a difficult patient, or patient unhappy with the care provided, but they definitely threw in some very tough ones. When I was asked a question I didn't understand, I didn't pretend I knew what they were asking, I sought out further explanation. Remember, when telling them about yourself cater it to what they'll be looking for (hard worker, team player, etc. etc.)
