  1. Hey, I also had to write a concession letter. It eventually changed to "waived" under GPA and then Viable Candidate overall.
  2. I'm waiting on my shirts from the bookstore, ordered Wednesday and they said they shipped Friday. I got admitted last week and Medline had like a 6 week wait! I ordered pants through the regular Medline website instead of the school one and they came in 2 days.
  3. It’s a 2.5 ? I have a previous bachelors degree which is tanking it because I was not ready for college at 18. I have a 4.0 at City Colleges, including microbio and A&P.
  4. Thanks everyone. I called and emailed -------------------- and she got back to me very quickly. Said she will pass my email about requirements still being marked incomplete along to the admissions committee. I’m not feeling very hopeful since my cumulative GPA is low and I had to write a letter explaining why. But, congrats to all who have been accepted and thanks again for all the information about who to contact!!
  5. Did you call the main office or someone in particular? I know we can’t share names here but if you know their title or initials LOL
  6. Not for me. I e-mailed -------------------------- last Friday to check in and haven’t gotten a response either.
  7. I have to wait for 4 more weeks to do my hep b repeat titer so I really hope they don’t reject me for that. Especially because the FAQs in the admissions packet says it’s fine as long as it’s in progress.
  8. Yeah this is frustrating. Especially when everyone talks to someone different who gives a different response each time. And financial aid, scheduling issues, the holidays…. Ugh.
  9. I noticed that too, but guessing it’s just their way of making sure no one registers yet? I’ve been keeping an eye on it, and it went from Waitlist with 9999 spots open to closed. So assuming it’s an admin thing
  10. I got an email yesterday saying I need to write a letter explaining my low cumulative GPA from my previous degree. So they are looking at stuff! Hopefully we hear sooner rather than later. I was just looking at the Spring schedule and one of the clinical options is on a Sunday. I really hope it’s a mistake and supposed to be Saturday, I work Sundays and can’t switch my schedule.
  11. Nope, not yet. I’m not sure if I should call to ask about it or not!
  12. Anyone applying for Malcolm X College for Spring 2023? Figured I'd start a discussion. I applied to the RN program and am waiting for them to update my cumulative GPA, background check, and medical document submission.
  13. Just got an “administrative denial” today. I’m pretty upset, but trying to contact someone to find out what exactly that means. It honestly still looks like no one has actually even looked at my application as there hasn’t been a single update to my portal since February. My background check was completed on my end in March, and I’ve been updating my medical documents as I finish vaccine series. hoping I can get an answer soon, and if I have to reapply for Spring I’ll be annoyed but I guess more time to save for tuition.
  14. Anyone have any updates? I tried to call today but got sent to voicemail. My application hasn’t been updated by the college since April. I noticed people are starting to register for classes so I’m getting realllyyy worried
  15. Congrats! Mine still has incompletes. I’m very frustrated but trying to remain hopeful!
  16. Guessing no one heard anything last week? My application still has incompletes.
  17. A little annoyed, I was going to apply for the IDPH scholarship but the deadline is in May and requires acceptance to a program. but makes me think they don’t have a ton of applicants which hopefully bodes well for us.
  18. Anyone have any news? My background check, medical documents, and admissions GPA are still listed as incomplete. I e-mailed someone right before Spring break with a question and didn’t get an answer. Getting reeeeallll anxious over here!!
  19. I wasn’t sure if the email about more seats meant for the TEAS or for the program. But I do think they only sent it to people who didn’t have all of their requirements done. I’m feeling super anxious too, because I had to get a few repeat vaccines my repeat titers won’t be done until after the deadline. Hopefully just a few more weeks to hear a decision! I know last Spring they sent out acceptances really early.
  20. I got an 86.7 cumulative and a 91 on reading. From what I’ve read here and heard from info sessions it sounds like as long as you hit the minimum scores you have a shot - it doesn’t seem like they go through and pick people with the highest scores. I think it’s just a lottery or a matter of who applies first.
  21. Just hopping on to join the conversation. I’m finishing up my last 2 vaccines in a few weeks (my MMR and Hep B came back negative) and that’s my last requirement for the RN application! I don’t have the pre-reqs for the PN program/am not interested in being an LPN (pays about the same as my current job) so I can’t answer that for you, unfortunately! Interested to hear what others may say.
