I applied for UMB ABSN program Summer 2022. I have a pretty strong medical background. 2 years full time as an EMT and a year as an ER tech at Tufts Medical Center downtown. Born and raised around Boston. My GPA in undergrad was right about 3.0, but my prereq GPA was about 3.7 ish. Like many people, I was told UMB does not consider applicants resume's (as the program is supposed to be for anyone with a bachelors, regardless of medical background), however if you have a medical background to highlight it in your essays and letters of recommendation. My letters are from nursing supervisors at different hospitals I have worked at, and my essays focused on my healthcare work. Was told to wait until early March 2022 for a decision. I also applied to Colby-Sawyer in NH as well as UNE in Portland, Maine. The only thing that worries me about UMB is how fast - paced it is at only 12 months. I have pretty good medical experience so the practical side of things does not worry me, but the academic does a little.
