  1. Did anyone of you respond in the new grad pages on FB?
  2. Are you the same person on the new grad FB page that commented about an acceptance? LOL. I'm checking everywhere to try to find out how many acceptances have gone out so far.
  3. I think they're rolling offers/rejections now, I just spoke to one of the recruiters and some units have decided already. Where did you interview for? Good Luck! I just got a rejection from one of the units I interviewed with ?
  4. 8 for the entite cohort and then they added the float position, so 9 total ?.
  5. Thank you! The recruiter told me she had over 600 applications for only 8 positions this cohort, so most were internal applicants (mine was not). I'm a UCLA MECN/MSN grad (June), I graduated summa cum laude for my BA, lots of volunteer stuff, I have a decently long work history but in a very different field, have managerial experience. TBH above anything, I had a really good conversation with the recruiter and I think that's the main advantage I had. The questions were all the typical ones, tell me about yourself/why Huntington/why nursing and then hypothetical situations "what would you do if your patient didn't understand the doctors explanation due to a language barrier?" And behavioral like "what does being a team mean to you?" ZERO clinical questions, nothing I could have really prepped for so all my answers were a little scattered but I'm PRAYING because it's so hard to get a new grad position right now! Hope this is helpful!
  6. Hi! I interviewed for that position on 12/16. It was added along with the new grad residency cohort last minute, so I think they're trying to fill the spot asap to begin with the rest of the group. I haven't heard back yet though, but I believe interviews are already complete.
  7. I was accepted too! Congrats! I've already decided on UCLA, so my spot will open up for someone else. Good luck!
  8. My degree is in Journalism. I applied last year and was rejected -- accepted this year. Don't be discouraged! They have a holistic approach. They look at everything -- experience, (volunteer & paid), grades, LOR & essays etc.
  9. Feels weird that no one from the first EAO day heard back. I was also there on January 26th. I got into UCLA (and officially enrolled!) but we're required to make a decision by March 8th -- Seems like they're going to lose quality applicants by waiting so long to release decisions as other programs will lock us in first. Anyways, good luck to those still waiting to hear back from Western and other programs!
  10. Still waiting. I thought we would have heard something by now! Hope by the end of the week ??
  11. 4.0 GPA for prereqs 3.92 GPA undergrad majored in journalism minored in Latin American Caribbean and Latino studies. I did my CNA over the Summer picked up per-diem shifts, just for the experience (and application) worked as a PCA for a bit in college. Lots of volunteering doing various things — mostly not health care related but volunteered at vaccination sites & did community outreach during covid. I got certified to teach English and volunteered teaching English and helped immigrants with citizenship. Worked with intercity youth. I've worked in cosmetics and for skin care brands as an education manager for the last several years. Taught makeup classes to cancer patients/burn victims. Hope that helps! Don't get discouraged. Just keep building your resume — apply everywhere and something will come to you! This is my second round of applications.
  12. They sent an information packet that has some basic information. I was reading from previous years it seems like a meet and greet and not too formal. I would still be prepared with questions you have for them and be prepared to talk a bit about yourself! I think being over prepared is better just in case ? Which day did you pick? I'm also curious how many people are invited/going.
  13. Thank you! And yes, I received an email from them at 1:30 today... I was shocked it came so early! I chose the Jan 26 date, there was another option for the first week of February. Good luck to you all! "Thank you for applying to the Master of Science in Nursing — Entry (MSN) Program at Western University of Health Sciences. Due to your outstanding qualifications, you have been selected to receive an invitation to our "Early Acceptance Opportunity Day" in place of attending a formal interview. This early acceptance opportunity will allow you to meet with the College of Graduate Nursing faculty, staff, and current MSN - Entry students to ask questions and get to know our program.”
