Living in NJ working in NYC, is it worth it?
Hello fellow nurses, I am a new grad and am looking for jobs to apply to. I live in NJ (my commute to the city is about 45 min to the west side) and am weighing out my options. NYC pays significantly higher than NJ, but is it worth it with the commute? I am looking to start working at a bigger hospital. Any advice?

I currently work as a nursing assistant at a hospitals. a lot of times an MSN means that you have a concentration in something. I think in case of Columbia, MSN is standing for BSN, since we’re not really concentrating in one specialty. that being said, hospitals do prefer BSN RN to like LPNs, because the degree is higher? not sure about MSN/BSN preference, but they do like to see a higher education vs community college level from what I’m gathering…it’s all the same work really, but many nurses told me to just go for the BSN RN if I can and skip the LPN, since that’s what the hiring people want to see In my case for example, I have a bachelors of science, so I’m not sure if it would matter if I had a BSN or MSN, since my science base is pretty strong

I was thinking because for the past few years they were releasing the answers so randomly they probably got a lot of hate for it. I mean, with a reason. Cause some people waited till March to find out. so maybe that’s why they’re trying to release it on the same date this year. However, if we have a deadline for application, shouldn’t they have a deadline for decisions?
