  1. Hello, I can't decide whether I should pursue my AGPCNP at UMass Lowell or Regis College. I'd appreciate any and all suggestions.
  2. I have 2 more classes to go to get my BSN. I LOVE nursing! good luck!
  3. Thanks! I'm in my 50s and I was worried about getting a job bc of my age, I actually had several offers. 3 days doesn't sound like enough training for a new nurse. What about a hospital where you had clinicals? luckily my specialty offers a residency program. good luck!
  4. I just took the NCLEX in MA. It was hard. If I passed, how soon would I see whether I passed on the website? I feel like I did horrible. Ugh!
  5. I will. I only have a couple more classes and plan to go for an advanced degree at some point. Congrats on getting your NP! That is so cool at 62!
  6. That is exactly what I needed to hear, thank you. I was worried about going directly into a specialty and then later on wanting to change. I don't want to miss that new nurse orientation, but I'm also much older and want to start my specialty sooner. Is a year sufficient on a med Surg floor?
  7. No, I stipulation. I have a BS from another field and only need to take 4 classes to get my BSN. I just figured being hired with a BSN would pay more. I guess it's good to have, especially since it's only a few more classes. Thank you!
  8. Thank you for your reply. My biggest concern is going directly to the specialty and then later decide to switch to something else. I would have lost my chance as a new grad nurse to learn how to be a general nurse and not get that training.
  9. I recently graduated with an ASN and am working on my BSN. I was offered a job, but when I mentioned that I am working on my BSN, they said the starting pay wouldn't change when I receive my BSN. I don't know if it was this particular place or is that common? Is it even worth getting?
  10. I just graduated and would like to get into a specialty. Would it be wise to begin my career on a med/Surg floor or go directly into a specialty? I'm back and forth about what to do. I am in my fifties starting a new career. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  11. Hi everyone, I wasn't sure where to post, but does anyone have any info on DEU clinical programs? Our class was given the opportunity, but wasn't sure whether doing this would be the best route. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Thanks! I'll check them out. Must all topics be memorized? There is so much.
  13. Hello, since I had taken both A&P I & II almost 10 years ago, I don't need to retake them. I don't remember anything. Is this a bad thing or should I take some type of crash course? Could anyone offer any suggestions?
  14. That's a good point, especially since I haven't taken any science courses since high school a long time ago.
  15. Hi, I am new here. I am a career changer with non-nursing degrees and excited to become an RN. Where could I take A&P online that is affordable (that doesn't require additional requisite courses)?
