  1. Update: Fingerprints were finally received by CA BRN on 9/20. I did Livescan at my local PD on August 18.
  2. In the same boat. Did Livescan at local PD about three weeks ago, still "fingerprints pending". May the DOJ is just slow around this time of year? ?
  3. Hi Coffeebeans, Nice to hear from you! Yes, I am in the (lengthy and somewhat annoying) process of doing the Castlebranch stuff for SJSU which is all due on Jan 1. I believe that SMU uses the same company for health clearance, so you should be able to reuse most of your lab work for TB, MMRV, HepB, etc. The health clearance is just one sheet of paper from your doctor, PA or NP stating you're healthy and physically capable of performing nursing duties. I recently went for a physical and ordered all my immunity tests at the same time. My doc was able to order it as part of my annual physical, so fortunately I didn't have to pay out of pocket.
  4. I'm in the exact same situation as you, except with SJSU. I hate being "that guy" who submits the "statement of intent" to attend SJSU only to withdraw a couple weeks later if I end up getting into SMU. Like CSUEB, SJSU is a heavily impacted program and I don't want to keep a spot away from a well-deserved applicant. I'm also in my 30s (almost 40, woohoo) and the accelerated program at SMU is a huge plus for me. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Hello future SM ABSN folks, I also haven't received any updates since the October 6th "preliminary review" email. It's kind of a bummer to hear back so late, because I am also deciding between SJSU (was conditionally accepted) and they need a decision by 11/29. Hopefully we will hear some good news soon!
