  1. Steer clear of the U of M Second Degree BSN. The "kinks" they need to iron out still need ironing....pressing actually. They are HIGHLY disorganized, give their second career students the bottom of the clinical barrel (all the good clinicals go to the community college or traditional students), faculty don't understand how to work the technology, their tests are full of contradictions, expectations are not clearly laid out, do not treat you as a "second career" student (so much for life experience and previous degree)...I don't have time to keep going. It would be a cruel joke to recommend the program. Find a school with a more established program.
  2. I am currently in the University of Michigan's Accelerated Second Career Nursing Program and I can honestly say that it is horrible. Unless you are ok with mass disorganization, unclear expectations, the bottom of the clinical barrel (the local community college and traditional students currently get all the best placements), being treated like a traditional student (rather than a second career student...it is like they never heard of "adult learners"), and dealing with faculty who are not familiar with the technology they teach, then I would recommend going to a more established program.
