The professors are the best thing about this program, for the first semester at least. I came in this program with 0 medical experience and myself and others found Dameron to be the perfect hospital to get your first introduction. If you are more experienced you might find Dameron a little "boring" but trust me it has its days. But the best part about picking Dameron is having (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) as your clinical professor. He will make your experience much more comforting, fun, and motivating. He genuinely cares about your learning and there's no question you can ask him where he will give you a plain answer or make you feel dumb. When you take Medsurg1 in the 2nd half of the semester you will also have an advantage by being able to ask him lecture Qs while on the floor because he will give you patients with problems that you are learning in the lecture. Also be ready for him to come up to you and ask you Qs about your patients, he always looks to teach his students, but that doesn't mean you have to know or understand every single thing about them. I am speaking to the traditional students (Fastrack Students don't get to pick their site) I highly encourage to pick Dameron with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for the best learning experience.

If somebody got in with if 70 and you got alternate with 69.5 then you should still have some optimism. This means you must be on top of the alternate list and you might only need one or two people to drop for you to be admitted. Usually at least five people don’t accept their spot because they are going somewhere else. So be positive and have hope. Also call the department and ask them what your spot on the list is. Hope everything works out.

We should be getting a email from the program in the next day or two. They will give us a list of things to do like getting vaccinations, CPR certification, boosters, and general info for the program. They also should be giving us a in person date for orientation where they will explain everything to get us prepared to start in January.

Listen I know how you feel trust me. Being denied not once but twice. Keep your head up and take this time to see what you can do to improve your chances next time but most importantly relax, enjoy the simple things in life and don’t feel like you must rush your time will come god willing.

YES. Two different people when I called told me that if I didn’t use the class on my application and then they want nothing to do with it no transcripts or course descriptions so if anything happens I know who to blame ??‍♂️??‍♂️. Last semester they made me turn both of those things in but like I said this semester they’re doing things a little bit differently.

Hey just wanted to let you guys know I asked a total of three times just to triple check but they said they don’t want any course descriptions or transcripts that don’t have to do with your application unless you took a pre-req at another school. I guess that’s one thing they changed from last application period. Did they tell anyone that they did have to? I talked to two different people and they both said no. Just curious because I thought I saw someone here say someone told they had to.

YES. She said if you don’t submit them you’ll be disqualified. I submitted mine even though I only took one class at another college

I also want to add this documentation checklist is different from last app period so I as well will double check before answering your questions. But most of them I’m sure of.

This is a great question. So last application period I asked “Hello I took one class at another CC but I didn’t use it on my application. Am I still required to submit the transcript for the class? It’s the only class I took at the school. Thank you.” To which they responded “ Yes you are required to submit the transcript from that school as well as a course description for that class the year it was taken.” Now The class was medical terminology so IDK if it’s because it was technically a class I could have used on the app but I didn’t because I used nutrition which I took at delta, but I’m not sure. If you took drama at other school are they going to ask for course description? I doubt but I would try and MAKE SURE. For those who didn’t submit their documentation packet yet be PATIENT. We have about two weeks and you don’t want to rush and submit it while making a mistake they are very strict about small things! If you are submitting it electronically do you wanna give yourself a due date for it to make it to the school on time which shouldn’t be too long but still everyone be patient I’m going to the campus tomorrow or Monday. I’m going to make a post on here asking people what questions they want me to ask when I go in person so be ready for that.

Hey guys I’m seeing everyone has a lot of questions and everyone complaining that they are not answering I know it’s frustrating but I am going to try and go in person to ask some of your questions. I don’t want to give anybody the wrong answer just in case they have change things this semester for example the course description for non nursing classes. I’ll let you guys know what I figure out.

Yes once you send your TEAS score once that’s it the school has them all you have to do is confirm with the health science department that you sent them. So just email them and tell them your name the exact date you sent them out and they will tell you that they have them

You might have chosen the option to automatically send it when you took your test. Go to the ATI TEAS website and check it will tell you next to your score what schools it was sent to. When it’s not popping up like that that means you’re already sent it to the school.

Yes this is true last time I applied I had to submit a transcript and a course description for a medical terminology class I took online at another community college and that’s literally the only class I took over there everything else was at Delta. Oh and I didn’t even use the class on my application.
