  1. I got into UT's 2-year program!!!!!!! I'm happy with that. The one-year might have been too much to handle for me anyway. Congrats to those who got in.
  2. I'm assuming this is for the traditional BSN program? I had an interview for the Accelerated BSN program. The writing sample consisted of basic stuff - why you want to be a nurse, what preperations have you made to undertake this program (financial, academic, etc.), are there any qualities you have that you want to tell the admissions committee. There was another question that had to do with your qualities and how they relate to nursing, I think. They give you plenty of time to complete this part. You write your answers on forms. They ask a question and you fill your answer in a box below. They give you plenty of scratch paper as well. As far as the interview was concerned, we were split between 3 interviewers. One group got interviewed by two people at the same time, and the other group was interviewed by the coordinator of the program. Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Just start thinking of the reasons you will provide for wanting to become a nurse before hand - even writing it down on paper. When you interview - they are (I think) trying to guage whether you can communicate well - a vital skill in nursing, as you will have to assess patients and question them. Just to be interviewed is already an accomplishment. I think there were well over 1000 applicants competing for like 130 spots. I'm not sure about the exact numbers, but it was somewhere around there. I can't sleep. Acceptance letters for my program were mailed yesterday for the accelerated program. The waiting is agony. Well, hope this information is useful, and best of luck!
  3. I've been checking UTLINK like every 20 minutes. I hope that they are still posting acceptances through tomorrow. It says on the site that there is a day delay. The acceptances today will probably post tomorrow at 8AM. I'm getting worried slightly. Oh well, it's in God's hands now. Good luck to you Jen52. I will give it another 2 days... if it doesn't say accepted on utlink by then, then I'll have to give up on the idea of the 1 year and focus on the 2 year. We're automatically considered for that program if we are denied anyway. Congrats to everyone getting in!!! I hope I will be among you.
  4. I know you posted this a long time ago, but just wanted to clarify something about UT-H. I interviewed with the coordinator of the accelerated BSN program, and she informed me that the Pharmacology class i'm taking at HCC will transfer to UT-H. Good day.
  5. Still haven't heard anything. I called them last week and Tarsha said the committee hasn't even met but the decisions will definitely be sent out by March 1. Klight- I guess that 1 week that I was hoping for was VERY wishful thinking.
  6. My overall: 3.497 My science: 4.000 My nursing: 3.580 I interviewed with UT Houston (Accelerated BSN) last friday and think it went very well. I was interviewed by the coordinator of the program. 20 will be selected for the program out of approx. 350 applicants. Out of the 350, only 80 were invited for interview. Writing sample consisted of why I wanted to be a nurse and other related things- nothing unexpected. I should hear the result within the next week. Hope I get in. I want it so badly.
  7. Hi Rule6, I have an interview with UT Houston on the 27th too. What do you suggest a man should wear to the interview? Suit? Also what were your interview questions like for UTMB? Did you have a writing sample to do? Thanks in advance for the info.
