Henry Ford Community College
While looking at all the different schools to go to, it looks as though having all requirements for HFCC Nursing, are on the waiting list, and when it's your turn then you are automatically accepted. I take the NET on Thursday, once I have the results I will be able to go onto the list. They said a 1- 1/1/2 year wait. Does anyone know anything about the process. They really encourage that ALL classess are done before so when in the program it's just the Nursing classes. Has anyone still taken classes needed while doing the nursing classes? (I will need to update A&P, retake Developemental Psy- mine was only a 2 credit, and take pharmacology.) My work schedule is completly inflexible, therefore I won't be able to attend school until I am accepted into the program. Any information about the HFCC Nursing program would be great!

Taking the NET on Wednesday!
I will be doing the NET on Thursday. I guess I'm not too worried about it. There is nothing you can really do to prepare for the reading section. And as far as math, I checked out a book at the library to brush up on everything. I am worried about not using a calculator. It's crazy how much we rely on a calculator, and get so used to using one. Good luck and please let me know what you thought of it tomorrow!

Changing Careers at 29 - Am I Crazy?
I am thinking the same thing as you are! I've always wanted to be a nurse and was in pre-nursing my first year of college. Then I was introduced to the profession of Chiropractic and felt that was my calling. After 6 1/2 years of school and 3 1/2 years practicing, I'm feeling that nursing was my calling. I am 28, married with no kids, but alot of student loan dept! It's alot to think about and very stressful, so I understand what you are going through. Good Luck!

Chiropractors
I have been a chiropractor for 3 1/2 years. I would agree with most of what is said on the message board. True- in every profession there are good and bad, therefore a refferal from friends/family/coworkers is the best way to find a DC with a good reputation where you live. It is definatley worth a try, if you want to find out what is causing your problems as oppsed to covering them up with drugs. I've taking care of several nurses that have hurt their spines lifting patients... which all respond favorably to care. If I can help answer any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. (For those of you wondering why a DC is on all nurses- I'm considering a career change to nursing, which I wanted to do before Chiropractic)
