    I am graduating from my ABSN program in December in and planning on moving to Chicago afterwards. I started my program in August of last year and have been contemplating getting a patient care technician job if it will help secure more job opportunities. I have been looking at the UIC, Northwestern, and Rush, but recognize that those hospitals can be quite competitive for new grads. Questions: When is a good time to start applying for positions? Will getting a tech job for six months increase my chances of getting a job? Which hospitals would you recommend for new grads?
