  1. Current student graduating in December here ??‍♀️ I tell every nurse applying for school to search the forums and YouTube vids etc and put together a list of situation-based questions, random off the wall questions, and a list of clinical topics you're ready to get into details about. For the situation and random questions- go ahead and write stories/scenarios/examples so you can draw from them quickly without lots of "uh, ummm" action LOL. My interview back in the day was mostly personality/scenario-based, but this is not consistent across folks in my cohort so don't bank on that. If anybody wants my list of questions I prepared, or wants to ask TCU-specific questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] good luck everyone!
  2. Hi! Current student here about to graduate in December. Congrats on the interview! It's been a minute since mine but I'll do my best to remember- I got mostly personality/situation-based questions rather than clinical questions. After talking to colleagues though, this seems to not be the norm per se. I was grilled about my support system and how I had/would be preparing for the grueling task that is CRNA school. I was asked about how I'd handle being a novice again. I believe I got a question like "tell me about a time you felt out of your depth clinically and what you did about it" or something to that effect. If you have time before your interview, highly recommend combing the forums and internet for question ideas and writing up mock answers! That's what I did so I had a "story" or example ready to draw up if I got a question that it would be applicable for. I have a list of questions if you would like to check it out! Just private message me. TCU is an incredible program and I have nothing but great things to say. Good luck! Getting selected for an interview is a huge first step. ??
  3. @Icurnobliviate it’s from Texas Christian University ([email protected]) and the subject is “TCU Nurse Anesthesia Decision”
  4. @ICURN2022 out of curiosity, how long are they giving y’all this round to accept or decline? We got 5 days. And congrats!!
  5. @Icurnobliviate @themurse133 just as a heads up as of right now there are only 46 people in the facebook group so I think there’s gotta be a whole second wave of notifications coming! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of y’all! ?
  6. @themurse133 agreed, and I can’t say I agree with those practices at all. Kinda cruel tbh
  7. My email from yesterday evening said I had until 8/15. Pretty dang quick turnaround in my opinion
  8. My husband thinks the same thing about the delay being planned for people declining their spots based on undesirable clinical placements… Has anyone else not gotten any of their top 3-4 sites?
  9. I also interviewed Thursday, and got the email around 530p eastern time today
  10. Wooo just got the good news email about 40 min ago! Congrats everyone!!
  11. @TrailRN @HornedFrogSRNA2022 I’m sure y’all did so much better than you feel!! No matter how many mock interviews and actual interviews I do, I never walk away feeling “good” about it. Hold onto hope!! T-minus 4-7 days ?
  12. So true. I read through some of these forums for previous years and a couple said that whether or not you got in depth clinical questions had to do with your score on the CCRN. Who knows if that’s actually true! Regardless, we made it this far, and that’s a huge accomplishment in itself ☺️
  13. Whew, interview done! Like others have said, everybody was so nice. No real clinical questions, just asking about my specific ICU experience. They said that they’re all meeting tomorrow to discuss, and we’ll find out one way or another next week. Fingers crossed & good luck everyone!
  14. @GingerNicuNurse do you happen to remember how long after your interview you were notified about an admission decision? I know some schools move really quickly and others let you pull your hair out wondering! Thanks in advance
