  1. I ended up not getting selected for the Loma Linda October cohort, but I did get into St. Bernardine Medical Center for their October cohort, coincidentally starting their new grad program on the same day as Loma Linda. I’m kinda surprised I didn’t even get called for an interview since I’ve heard that the new hospital is very short on nurses and healthcare staff. Honestly IDK how it all works, but good luck and congrats to all who did land a spot in their new grad program!
  2. YAYYYYY!! ?????✨??? @futurernmelne I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Congratulations!! I’m so glad you got licensed just in time for your new grad start date!! Best of luck in your new career as an RN!
  3. I did the PVT about 4 hours after taking my exam & got the good pop up. Because I took my test on the Friday (7/02) before 4th of July, it didn’t process in the normal 48 hours, but took an 2 extra days. So I saw my license appear on the BRN on July 6th, four days later. Given that you took it today on a Wednesday, I don’t see why your license would not appear by Friday at the latest. I think you might even see it pop up tomorrow night! ☺️
  4. YAYYYY! ???✨ I’m sure you DID INDEED pass! The Pearson VUE Trick was very accurate for myself! And from what I’ve read online it’s pretty much a ?% solid method to see if you passed!! So Congrats! ? & literally EVERYONE feels like they failed NCLEX right after taking it ??
  5. @StudentNurse1221 That’s awesome news for you and your cohort! ?✨ At least the BRN kept their LEGAL deadline ?. Something has to change because 3 months of waiting is waaayyy too long.
  6. Congrats @futurernmelne ???Now you just gotta CRUSH the NCLEX exam (which you will ?) and then you’re on your way to become a new RN!! You’ve been ready!! ???
  7. Honestly, I feel like the BRN needs a good class-action lawsuit against them so they can start implementing change (hire more staff and open more processing offices). It really is irresponsible on their behalf that they take so incredibly long to process these apps. ?
  8. Does anyone know if they are still sending out emails/calls for interviews?? I still have not received any communication from LLUH. At this point, I think it’s safe to assume I was not selected for the Oct. cohort.
  9. @futurernmelne I’m so sorry you had to go through so much just to get turned away! ? Honestly, it’s not fair at all that they linger this process so long. I know that my application processed in a timely manner due to sheer luck. I seriously hope and pray you get approved in 2 days and not 2 weeks ???? Given the MASSIVE size and population of California it’s really just careless that the BRN has such a low amount of staff and ONLY one office in Sacramento to approve NCLEX apps. Again, sorry to hear about all your troubles! ?
  10. Thanks ? Good luck guys, maybe we’ll get an email this week!
  11. Thanks, I appreciate your encouraging words!! One more question LOL, when did your friend interview for the ICU??@Christiane Dizon
  12. You are interviewing for the Medical-Surgical unit? @Christiane Dizon Also, did you notice any change to your application status? Like “Application Under Review” changing to “Application Under Recruiter Review” on your jobs portal? Thanks for your input by the way! ?
  13. Very encouraging! @Christiane Dizon May I ask what unit you applied to? Also were you licensed in CA before submitting your application?
  14. Thanks @Jaylakers1RNBSN I selected Surgical ICU as my primary choice. When I first called HR, the lady on the phone informed me that “everyone wants ICU” meaning a substantial amount of applications were geared towards the ICU floors. I have to say that getting to start a new grad program in a brand new hospital facility would be very nice! Good luck to you as well ?
  15. I have not had any communication from Loma Linda University either @filloryguy33. A friend of mine who spoke to several hiring managers at LLUH said they were conducting interviews as far back as two weeks ago. I think applying before being licensed in CA negatively impacted my chances of being a potential candidate. At this point, my hopes are not too high considering how competitive LLUH is for their nurse residency. ?
  16. @JFranRN I hope you receive your ATT soon! Most people in my nursing cohort received our ATTs around the same time (within days of each other or the same day, between June 21-24). So the BRN probably hasn’t gotten to your school’s applications just yet. ??
  17. That’s awesome!! @newgradrnnn I really hope you get an offer for the position. ? I applied to the Surgical ICU. I haven’t been called yet, which kinda makes me nervous. Although, I did say I am open to working other departments on my application. Quick question, when you applied back in the beginning of June, did you already have your RN license in CA? I applied before I was licensed and just received my RN license last week on July 6th. I called the HR department at LLUMC, and the lady I spoke with said that my application may have been overlooked by the recruiters for the “first round” because I checked the box stating I was not yet licensed “but planned to be licensed by Sept. ....” Nevertheless, I did update my candidate profile on the jobs portal to include my RN license number as soon as it posted on the BRN (July 6th).
  18. Great!! Thank you so much @newgradrnnn for sharing what they asked! Did you receive a phone call from the recruiter or just an email stating your Zoom interview details? Also, where did you apply?? I’m still waiting for any communication from the recruiter.
  19. Anyone received a phone call or update on their online submission status?? I saw that interviews are only supposed to take place for a few more weeks and I’m starting to get nervous since I haven’t received anything in call or email form. ?
  20. Thank you so much @Gena Porter for being willing to share your resume as reference! I was always under the impression that resume’s could only be one page long or it would overwhelm the reader. But seeing yours done so well makes me think otherwise ?
  21. Great!! So for example, in this pic below of a med/surg per diem job description, would you include key phrases like “individualized plan of care” and “monitor patient progress” into the skills portion of the resume? @Gena Porter
  22. Wow, thank you! Your insight is seriously invaluable ?✨????? @Gena Porter So what your saying to include “keywords” from the job description verbatim or paraphrased into my resume to get the system to isolate my application??
  23. Thank you so much @Gena Porter Your pic example really helps clear up some confusion regarding the way Kaiser recruiters operation the online jobs portal. I think they should at least send people automated emails to let them know they didn’t qualify for the position, but that’s just my opinion LOL. I do have one quick question: How soon after someone completes an application do they normally receive the “snapshot” email? Is it a few days or a few weeks after submitting an application??
  24. Thank you!! @Gena Porter You input has given me a sliver of hope that I’m still in the running for the new grad position at least! I did notice a slight change in my submissions portal... the “Inexperienced RN New Grad” position went from “View/Edit Submission” to just “Edit Submission”. Does this mean that potentially a recruiter is looking at my application or am I just being too hopeful?? My submission status has remained the same so it’s very difficult to know if that slight change is even significant.
  25. Thank you!! Best of luck to yourself as well... and to everyone else trying to find their way after graduating nursing school ????
