Hello all. I am a nurse with an associates degree that lives in the state of California. I have been trying to get into the hospital setting and it's been a very frustrating experience. I got good grade in school, have over 11 years experience as an LVN, have a military background, have ACLS, and even paid to have my resume professionally done to hit all the buzz words in the applicant tracking system. I can't seem to get an interview for the hospital. I have been stuck only being able to apply for Nurse I positions, as Nuse II positions require acute care experience, which I can get unless I make it into a Nurse I position; and these positions only seem to come along twice a year. Now I am at 2 years post graduation, with no acute care experience and I have just now aged out of most new graduate positions. All I want to do is be a good nurse, yet I can't get the opportunity to learn how to be one, because no one will take a chance on me. It's maddening. Does anyone have any advice on how to get into the hospital setting?
Signed,
A frustrated New Grad
