  1. Hello I I have been an RN since 2009. Ccrn, 10 Years in ICU and 2020 started in PACU. Two nurses I worked with were bullies and were constantly going to HR and the state complaining about hospital (one of them sued the last hospital she was at as well) . During this time I took care of a patient who unfortunately coded after a very complex surgery. This bully nurse was caught looking at my charting and sent information in the chart to other agencies with her cell phone. I reported her to the hospital and the hospital reported her license to the Brn. In response to this, she reported my license to the Brn claiming failure to monitor patient. My charting was awful and the brn decided to pursue thr claim. The hospital and mgmt fully supported me and even paid for my lawyer. Unable to fight the board bc I didn't have the finances I accepted the public reprimand. I have no restrictions on my license. In 2027 the records will apparently fall off but the discipline never will. I really want to switch to another hospital possibly. Has anyone been through this? Do I have a chance of getting another job? I also wanted to possibly pursue higher degree , should I pursue this or will it be a waste of money ? any advice welcome.
  2. In terms of HIPAA: Can a nurse who was the primary care nurse for a patient that expired check their charting afterwards ? During code events, it’s very stressful and I’m wondering if checking the EmR after is allowed to make sure you charted Everything correctly. For example It’s difficult to write a verbal order when the patient is coding in front of you and you are taking care of the patient. You can’t do two things at once.
