  1. Wellstar ATL, RIP.
  2. Hey. For those nurse residents in high stress, high intensity entry positions (e.g., ICU, ED, neonatal, etc.) who are being asked to work 12-hr night shifts, don't be afraid to ask for 6-months "on" nights followed by 6-months "non-nights (day or swing.) The emotional and relationship toll working 12-consecutive months of night shift is not realistic or healthy! (emotional, physical, marriage, children.) If you don't ask, it won't be considered. I don't understand why such an alternating (not unrealistic) option isn't a given. I would commit long-term employment to a hospital facility that would offer such an option to me.
  3. Re Grady. Multiple attempts for feedback from G. re approximate dates and times. Nothing in response. Given lack of response, pretty much done with G. as a likely option. If this is how they respond to applicants, imagine...
  4. ALL prospective newly graduate RNs, need to Google & read NYT article, "Nursing in Crisis," Aug. 2021. RN residents should demand higher entry pay than the entry offer of "$20" plus. All RN residents need to demands alternating work shifts other than 2-consecutive years of night shift. If you allow medical corporate, they will burn you out...
  5. For those accepted to E. Healthcare, what is entry, hourly pay quote? I suspect hourly rate differs dependent on shift, but please share (anonymously) starting hourly pay. You don't have to ID unit in which you are working, but that would be useful. This information would help those of us who are out of state and have to make a decision based on cost of living in a major city such as Atlanta. Txs.
  6. Considering applying to Emory Healthcare at Fall 2021. Anyone have info about starting pay scale? Is there a baseline pay that perhaps increases based on unit or time? Any info anyone has would be appreciated.
  7. Hey. So I'm wanting to understand the payback requirement for the nurse residency program at Emory Healthcare. As I understand it, the residency is the 1-year period of initial employment (I.e., rookie 12-month year.) The payback requirement on website states "2-years." Does the 2-year total payback requirement include the initial (rookie) year or is the payback 2-years IN ADDITION to the first year period of residency employment (I.e., A total 3-years of employment)? I have repeatedly emailed nurse recruiters in hopes of a response to the question but, no reply (...such a secret...) Can anyone currently participating in the E. healthcare residency program share what they know?? Getting an answer to such an important, critical question shouldn't be such a hassle. Thanks.
