Well, I have some good news! They let me choose if I wanted to do Surgical Services or Med Surge and I chose Med Surge at Winston because after talking with some family in the nursing field, they all agreed that it would be the best foundation for me with where I want to go in the future which is Women’s Services - Mother/Baby. I’m super excited to get started! Congrats everyone!

Exciting, awesome! Congrats! I spoke with someone yesterday and she said the woman that is going to be reaching out to me with a decision is on vacation this week so she told me to expect to hear from her mid next week when she is caught up

Oh okay, that was my second, my first was last week. I think mine may be a little different in terms of when I’ll hear since it was my second interview and I’m interested in surgical services.

It was an interview. They said I will hear from one of the nurse residency managers . I don’t know how long to expect to wait to hear from her so we’ll see.

Lurkndmurk, I already did the same interview that you did. They ended up just telling me that they wanted me to interview with this nurse manager from the surgical services department which is what I’m interested in. I don’t think many people express interest in that area. From what I was told from HR, she said most of the time it’s just 1 interview and offers are extended but she said it was great I got asked to set up a meeting with this woman and my interview status also changed to “initial contact made regarding offer”. So a big part of me thinks it’s really just an offer not an interview but regardless, I’ll prepare for it as if it were an interview. I have a good feeling about it and I felt good about my initial interview too ?

Okay, yea mine was worded differently and didn’t give a date and time just asked when I could interview, so I am doing so on Monday. I did the interview last week as well with one of the nurse managers of the residency. I thought the email I received today would be an offer but I am trying to get into Surgical Services so maybe they do it differently where they want to meet you and interview you themselves before making a decision. Very exciting for you though! I’m optimistic ?

Lurkndmurk,LPN Congrats! In the email regarding the zoom, was yours worded as a “zoom interview” and you let them know what time and day worked best for you? Or were you just told a day and time and when to attend and were other people present? I just am still confused if it’s another interview or a meeting to say congrats and extend an offer.

Bangle, ADN, RN. Thank you, I will keep you updated. I was confused because I thought it was just going to be offers extended this week but maybe each unit does it differently where they want to also interview people before a decision is made? I haven’t heard of that happening but praying it goes well. Mine is next Monday. Stay hopeful! I’m sure they are still reaching out to people.

Bangle, Mine never even changed for the interview. It never changed since weeks ago when it said “recruiter reviewing application” or something like that. So someone hasn’t been updating the status of mine and I’m just telling myself not to worry about it because I’ve seen some people whose status is updated regularly and others whose hasn’t been regularly updated and they still got offers

Awe well that’s great to know your friend loves it in Surgical Services! I’ve heard and read nothing but great things about Novant’s residency. I don’t live in North Carolina at the moment but am going to be moving to the Charlotte area and staying there. I have family in the Charlotte area. I don’t know what school FT stands for but I’m assuming a school in your area LOL. I went to nursing school in Charleston, South Carolina!

That’s so funny you are the same person as me! So my #1 is women’s services but I knew I wouldn’t have a chance because I didn’t make the January deadline for first round interviews (too much to explain). I applied in March. So since Women’s services is full, and it’s just waitlist now, I told them I would be interested in Surgical Services also! I hope there’s openings in that area!

Bangle, ADN, RN - I clearly haven’t figured out how to respond to your posts ? but mine was the same situation, I initially had two interviews scheduled for the same locations as you and then I reached out to Mrs. Murphy and she said the same thing that one interview was all that was needed to be considered for all locations so she said she was would cancel my other interview. I was also told that offers would be extended this week. I had hope that we were going to hear something first thing Monday, because like you I’m just super anxious and it’s all I think about, LOL . I’ll take it as a good sign though that neither of us heard anything yet because maybe we are in the same boat as everyone else who interviewed last week. ??we hear something super soon!
