  1. I attended Emory's program and loved it. What I liked about Emory is that it is an integrated health system with the university. The clinical experience was worth it to me. Definitely look at federal scholarship options for nurse (nurse corps) as the degree is very pricey. If you are planning to stay in the Atlanta area, it's probably better to look into state schools like Kennesaw, which also has an excellent program. I moved and my Emory degree got me interviews in other states because the hiring managers know the school and reputation
  2. Having a BSN/equivalent was something the nursing directors told me I should make sure I get at my old hospital. It's mostly a Job position thing. The positions listed will say BSN required, optional MSN. Something like that. On the floor I have met folks with MSNs practicing at a BSN level because of 1) no jobs and 2) no experience on the floor. If you come out with an MSN only, than consider looking into NP fellowships to gain experience on the floor and that will feed into a NP position.
  3. I believe MN students are eligible for merit scholarships. I know a few that have substantial ones (I think some are full tuition) but they are in the MN/MSN program. Emory has an InEmory program (I am in this program) that automatically gives $10,000 spread out to all students so long as you maintain a 3.5 GPA. A few students have full scholarships too, based on merit and need, first gen college, etc. You should probably reach out to the financial aid office to see about scholarships. Other scholarships I received are outside scholarships. Not sure what “a lot” is to you, but emory isn't cheap and so if money is your main concern and Hopkins is offering a better package, that is something to consider.
  4. Hi! Glad I found this thread! I was accepted to the InEmory program and will be starting in January 2022! Not from Atlanta and moving across an ocean and country with my german shepherd. ? nice to meet you folks!
