  1. Great question! Not one that I am aware of.. I am not on FB but if you decide to get one started let me know and I will join for that.
  2. I applied with I think 91.8.. I was originally an alternate but I got a call on Friday that someone had declined their spot and I was next in line so I got in for this year.
  3. I got my CNA license back in July and then started working as a PCT at Valley Childrens in August. It helped me to get those extra points I needed to bump me up enough to get into West Hills RN program this time.. I start in August. It was also beneficial because it has given me experience and the direct patient care and skills needed to feel comfortable caring for them. Working in a hospital like that also helped me to confirm that nursing was definitely the field for me and I feel more confident going into Nursing school.. I would say do it! You can gain some experience while waiting to get into a program! Hope this helped!
  4. Did anyone here also apply to West Hills
  5. Plus 10 alternates for each semester I believe
  6. Well hopefully we both get a spot! See you at Orientation
  7. How many points did you apply with? Anyone else hear anything?
  8. Awesome! Here’s to hoping we both get a spot!
  9. I received an email as well. I got one in my west hills account and my personal email
  10. By my calculations it was 90
  11. I am an alternate.. just found about 2 hours ago.. I wa say work though so I couldn’t come on here and tell you guys.. I am alternate 1 so feeling hopeful I will get a spot!
  12. I didn’t get anything yet. I would call if I wasn’t at work
  13. Has anyone that applied to the traditional RN program heard anything? I am surprised I wasn’t expecting we would hear anything until the week of the 18th!
  14. Once you are pre selected.. you have to go through a background check, drug screening, physical, submit vaccines, stuff like that. If you pass all that.. you get a spot.
  15. I think the last week of April
  16. I really don’t think it is.. they even extended the deadline due to some technical error and it says it’s point based.. so I am sure it is still based off points
  17. I know the CNA program is first come first serve.. but the RN program is definitely point based
  18. I don’t think so.. where did you hear that?
  19. No it’s point based.. they will take the top scores.. does that make sense?
  20. No.. but I don’t think we will until the week of the 18th
  21. Oh really? IDK, it was the only place I applied too and I got hired right away. They get a lot of applicants for positions I figured it would be mid to late April before we heard anything
  22. Yes if you didn’t repeat any then you automatically get 15 points for that section Thanks! I sure hope so!
  23. I work Valley Childrens and getting that experience is what helped boost my points. I was only at 81 last year but this time around I got the 8 points for acute care experience. Good for you.. working that hard and having 4 kiddos! It’s not easy.. I have 3 of my own, so I totally can relate. I applied to SJVC this year and got in but at the end of the day I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $60k for an ADN program and declined my spot. Maybe that is an option for you if you don’t get into any of the Community colleges. Hang in there though.. I know how discouraging it can all be! I am hoping and praying this is my year but if not I will just keep trusting that when the time is right it will happen!
  24. Those stats are good! At least West Hills and FCC.. you just need a 62 on the TEAS. They don’t give any extra points for it like COS does. Do you have any healthcare experience?
