Linfield ABSN Summer 2021
@gt31 Congratulations, and looking forward to meeting everyone as well! I think we're supposed to get a financial aid package mailed in three weeks, as per Joanna. I just checked the portal and there is now a link to accept the offer and pay the $400 (I'm personally going to wait a bit since we have until May 1st). Also, I'm sure we'll learn more at the "New Student Information Sessions." I signed up for the April 5th one. Love the idea of a facebook group; I don't personally have facebook but I'm sure others would find this helpful. Take care!

Seriously. The application portal is so janky too. All I see is Joanna's contact information and the option to change my phone number. You too?

@sshall Congratulations!! Wishing you the best! @TeresaLMI echo the above, you sound extremely qualified and I'm so sorry for that extreme disappointment. They don't know what they're missing out on! I admire your dedication and know that it will work out for you. Rooting for you!

Linfield ABSN Summer 2021
Hi @sshall! Thank you! No waitlist for me, just an email saying they are unable to offer me admission, but that certainly makes sense! I wonder if they had too many applicants this year. But I am definitely going to do the application review phone call they offer and will post any insight I get to some forums here.

Linfield ABSN Summer 2021
Hi there! So nervous to hear about admissions decisions tomorrow! I got an interview for OHSU's ABSN program but didn't end up getting in, and then was waitlisted (on the lowest rung) for OHSU'S ABSN to FNP program. I'm hoping to be a Family Nurse Practitioner in the future. For reference, I have 6 months' volunteer experience at OHSU, 1.75 years as a TMS technician at a mental healthcare clinic, and a 3.78 non-science undergraduate GPA and 4.0 nursing pre-req GPA, but no shadowing and no more healthcare related volunteer hours. It seems like a super competitive year and you all sound like extremely competitive applicants with robust healthcare backgrounds! Wishing you all the best and sending out good vibes. I would love to know if y'all have any recommendations for pre-nursing jobs if I don't get in! I'm thinking of getting an online Medical Assistant certificate, maybe phlebotomist (although I hate getting poked), or something with a similarly short certification timeline. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
