  1. York and Ryerson! So I’m still happy to be heading back to school. Best of luck to everyone moving forward.
  2. It was a no for me as well! All that anticipation. I’m glad the wait is over at least. Best of luck to everyone else.
  3. I’m catastrophizing… I wonder how they’re making decisions given there has already been a pool of rejections. I’d love to know how the process works.
  4. What do you guys consider the cut off for “mid May” May 14th, 20th? The suspense is killing me, and the daily obsessive checking of my email is getting out of hand ?
  5. I think the post masters and combined programs are treated differently. I think it’s a matter of volume of applicants and likely challenges from COVID. Other than that one person on this feed I don’t think another soul has heard back. I’d think if any round of decisions had been made everyone one either know if they were waitlisted or not or rejected. Fingers crossed we hear tomorrow or early next week.
  6. I know! I guess it was the day after the deadline closed. Yes, it was similar to other people saying a decision was made with the rejection letter in the portal. Fingers crossed we hear soon!
  7. Me too! I feel badly for them and wish them the best of of course selfishly I wonder what it means for me (and the rest of us on here)!
  8. My account still says under review but I have a colleague who received a rejection on Saturday May 1st.
  9. Congrats! So exciting. This gives me some hope that we will hear soon. As an aside, I'm wondering if any of you are currently working in Toronto / GTA and have advice for finding casual employment. I'm relocating from Alberta and I'm finding that casual jobs are few and far between compared to out west ?
  10. I got an email on March 25th from the graduate program director for the school of nursing. My status on MyFile on York hasn’t changed, but they said it’s a two week delay between their email and York getting in touch.
  11. Peculiar, given they said offers are only sent out beginning at the end of March at the earliest and that we’ve all been told no decisions have been made. Regardless congrats.
  12. Interesting, how did you learn this was it through the application portal or through email from someone? I was directly told my their admissions admin that no decisions had been made and that it would be a few weeks. also did you applied to the after MN certificate or the MN - NP certificate combination? I on the other hand heard from York and Ryerson as their admissions decisions are released earlier. Check RAAMS for ryerson if you’re still waiting.
  13. Who knows, she just said no news or update and that it may be a few weeks, so maybe it’s still possible. Fingers crossed.
  14. It was Kate! I was hoping the lack of reply was because they were busy emailing admission offers ?
  15. Ahh, this makes sense! That makes sense and I can imagine the Adult stream would be perfect for you! This is my thought... also the completely online aspect and not being synchronous would making balancing a small line easier I'd think. My hope is U of T as I'm relocating to Toronto and am having to sort out logistics in my current home, so being able to be 100% distance as U of T supports (minus the onsite residencies) would be best for me. Plus the reputation, and everything you mentioned. I might just accept Ryerson if I haven't heard, and if I get into U of T take the loss on the deposit I'll have to pay... I tried to email U of T to discuss my quandary but it was not successful sadly.
  16. That's very kind, thank-you. Is your preference U of T over Ryerson? If so why? I'm curious about people's thoughts also a school part of the consortium vs stand-alone like U of T.
  17. I heard from Ryerson last week on Thursday. My confirmation date is April 2nd so really waiting on U of T to make a decision. When do you need to confirm by? I also heard from York but will be declining the offer.
  18. Also nothing, I anticipate it will be later this month, end of this week or maybe next week even into early April
  19. Congratulations on your acceptance into school! A few things to note before you read my opinion, as education varies from country to country. I'm a nurse in Canada and this is already where I went to school and got my BN. I would encourage you to look into what the MSN degree sets you up to do when you're done and the curriculum. If the degree prepares you to write the NCLEX or equivalent licensing exam you can work as a patient-facing clinician providing patient care as an RN permitting you've passed the required exams, health, and licensing protocols outlined by your nursing body. I know people who have gotten an MSN after an unrelated / non-nursing undergrad and work as an RN. It would be unusual for you to get into an MSN program that doesn't prepare you to be a nurse as any other master of nursing programs would build upon foundational nursing theories, and not having the foundational knowledge would be a disservice to you. LSS: find out if the program you're going into prepares you to write the NCLEX or equivalent licensing exam where you live.
  20. I am also eagerly awaiting a response! I feel like my application has been "under review" for months at this point ?. I attended their virtual information session, and from an obsessive perusal of the website, they start to send the offers out at the end of March. I applied to the global health stream. Did anyone apply to other programs in the province? I applied to Ryerson & York, but also haven't heard a thing. Is anyone aware of the grades and stats of people who have been accepted in the past? I feel like a somewhat competitive applicant; however, I've heard it's very hard to get in, so I'm not sure what makes for a successful applicant.
