Anyone here attending Georgetown this fall? I would love to connect with those in my cohort. Or, if current students wanted to chime in about their experience so far, I'd love to hear about your typical schedule in the first semester, work-life-student balance (if there is such a thing!), and any tips you wish you would have known starting the program. Hi mariko, I completed a 16-month ABSN and received an HRSA Nurse Corps scholarship. The scholarship helped me immensely - paid for my entire tuition and gave me a monthly stipend ~$1500 each month. My program also started in May and this was considered "Summer semester." For this reason, Nurse Corps paid tuition for this semester. I would strongly encourage you to read through the application guidance handbook - it shares tips that help submit a strong application including essay responses and letters of recommendation. A couple of things to consider with this scholarship is that it requires a minimum of a 2-year commitment at an eligible facility. Depending on where you live it may or may not impact your options for employment. The entire scholarship (tuition payments and stipends) is also taxed - this means your tuition disbursements are reduced d/t taxes and you will have to pay some tuition. I found a lot of mixed information from the prior year's forum. I did find the HRSA report to congress, which specifies the number of applicants and scholarships awarded. The most recent report available is from 2020. I attached a screen shot below, it can also be found on page 9 of the report. Based on this data 12.5% of new applicants were awarded a scholarship. It's likely too soon, but has anyone heard from OHSU for essay invites? I received an email with an expected timeline. Sounds like we should be getting invites for the essay this month? I hope! ?
