  1. I sent in my reason to all instructors and to the one in charge. My instructor, so I have been told by my girlfriend still in the clinical site, has been much better. I doubt if I helped at all but maybe. Today I start school near a jr. college down the street in the ECG program. I don't need but one course and then clinicals. So long for now and good luck.
  2. Thanks for all the support but I did drop out. I was so mentally exhausted from trying to figure out what I was supposed to do that I couldn't sleep or eat.My age probably had something to do with it after all, even though I see myself physically and mentally as young. I didn't mind the total chaos that the work and exams were in. I could handle that, but I felt like I could have caused harm to a patient knowing so little of clinicals. You all sound like the students in my class. They wrote and agreed with me 100 % about how bad it was especially my instructor but they were sticking it out because it was their dream. I am proud of them. I plan to sub a couple of days a week while I decide my future of hopefully doing something beneficial with my life. Thanks also for the idea of RN school. That has crossed my mind as I know here in Dallas we have good ones and I took the extra 17 hours just incase I bridged. You all are wonderful!

  4. Hi, this is my second semester in the LVN program. I have a new clinical instructor and hospital this semester. She is horrible and doesn't teach us any of the things we are supposed to do. She will tell you to shut up or stop asking questions.Everyone is petrified of her. She told us this week that we are supposed to take our patients and do everything for them except pushes. We haven't been trained for anything except by a book that we studied ourselves. I am the only new student as the other 8 were there last semester. I don't know how to work the pda or the in and outs like the others but she could care less about me. I don't sleep the night before clinicals because I dread it so much. I just wrote to the head of the department and told her I am out. Everyone says we are like lambs being lead to the slaughter. It is a very disorganized program. I can't believe it is such a mess. I am sad because I really loved being a nursing student . I am a retired teacher so I do not have to put up with it like the others though.
  5. I too have a question on dates as I am graduating at the end of July and have to book a flight for September 16th which is a Saturday very soon.I wanted to take the test as soon as I graduate so I was hoping it didn't interfere with my trip. How often are the NCLEX pn given? I can't find any info on this subject. Thanks, Rosebud1
