After doing some research I think that’s the plan. I’m going to try to get my EMT after finishing my prerequisite highschool courses I had missed, work for a Summer and then attend nursing school. I want to give fire a shot, but I’m not exactly sure how that process is but I’m sure id figure it out at some point during the emt process! I appreciate the reply ?

Hi everyone, I just made an account on this website and am not too sure quite how it works yet so I apologize for any mistakes in this post! I’m 18 years old and currently browsing my career options. I want to become a registered nurse, but I’m also highly interested in firefighting/emt work. have any of you heard of the possibility of doing both jobs? Or do any of you recommend doing one before the other, such as doing fire/emt before/during nursing school? I am currently in the process of upgrading my highschool courses so I can apply to nursing school to get my BSN. I want to work as a nurse full time and maybe fire/emt part time, if that’s even possible? (I think, none of my ideas here are set in stone as I have little experience in either field other than high interest). I tried posting to reddit and got some replies but I felt maybe people on here may know more about this topic. any insight is very appreciated!
