Whether you finish in a year depends on how many units you complete per semester. Students in my cohort didn’t do co-enrollment because it cost more. Instead they are doing RN-BSN, but taking Summer BSN courses so that they can finish in one year. I am doing RN-BSN at CSUDH. CSUDH required courses are 23 units total. I complete 6 units already this Summer. That leaves me with 17 units left when I graduate with my ADN. I plan to take another 6 units Summer 2023, 6 units fall 2023, and 5 units Spring 2024. Keep in mind- I already have a BA. So I’m only taking the core BSN classes. It might take longer if you do not already have a bachelors and need to complete other graduation requirements.

@teee I know two that commute from LAX area. They do complain about the commute. One usually just stays on campus after class to avoid traffic and use that time in the LRC to study or practice skills during practice NEST hours (which are very limited). Whether it’s worth it to you would depend on factors that matter to you. If I were in your position, I would probably pick a closer college if possible because I do value my time and I don’t want to be on the freeway for that long. I think commuting from Long Beach is far enough. For my classmates, GWC was where they got in so obviously for them it’s worth it to start right away. If it were me, I’d deal with the commute if this was my only option. You’d be commuting 3 days a week, and you may drive as far as UCI one day a week. But overall, I think it’s doable. Keep in mind you do not get to pick your clinical site as it is a random assignment.

Fountain Valley Regional, Huntington Beach Hospital, South Coast Global, OC Memorial for 1st semester- at least in my experience. 2nd semester for Maternity Newborn will be Hoag, OC Memorial, and UCI. Med Surg: Los Alamitos, OC Memorial, FVR. Pediatrics at CHOC. I heard contract with Miller’s Children was put on hold due to Covid. Hospital assignments can change, so it may end up being different. But these are the main hospitals that are being rotated.

English G110 will be waived if you have a bachelors, so you don’t need to take it for the ADN program. However you do not get the two points towards your total for the purposes of admission.

Have you sent an email to the nursing department regarding this question? A previous grad student said that they would accept second scores... but I would be wary of believing anything on a forum as oppose to what is stated by a nursing admission staff IN WRITING. Looking through the online orientation and the "How To Apply," it states that to be eligible to apply, you must pass TEAS with a 62% or higher on your first attempt. On these two sections, there is no indication on how points are awarded or if you can take it again for a higher score. If you look on the Multi-Criteria Guidelines, it states that "the first score will be counted for points." I think your best bet is to email the department. Best of luck.

I did receive a letter that it was erroneous. So if you didn’t get this letter, you should be good! Congrats!!

I emailed the nursing department and they said they are trying to figure out what happened since I didn’t apply for Spring. They did confirm that I am in the Fall 2021 cohort and to disregard the email. I will say that this Spring 2022 email is a little bit different than the Fall 2021 email I received.

I was accepted for Fall 2021. Didn’t apply for Spring 2022 but got a conditional acceptance for Spring 2022 sent to my personal email. The email stated I would receive an official letter of acceptance upon completion of my transcript evaluation (which has already been completed). Hopefully my email was just an error.

I’m confused…. Do you have an appointment today? …. And you took your drug test already but there were issues with the confirmation number? Sounds like they may not put in the correct number? From what I recall, the phlebotomist input the code from the email and Goldenwest Complio showed up with my name. I signed up for Complio last Tuesday night, did a walk in for the drug test Wednesday around 2pm and my results for both posted to Complio by Friday at 3:30pm. If you already did this last week and it hasn’t posted, I would call in to the lab and see what may be causing the delay.

When did you get the drug test done? It took about 2 days to post for me.

For those with CPR cards already… are you still planning to redo it in July? Or should I send an email asking if they can do an exception?

Just received the pre-enrollment criteria… I literally got my CPR card this month because I had to renew for work. The instruction states the card must be issued in July ?. I really don’t want to spent another $50+ on this….

I just opened them on Adobe PDF reader and filled out the boxes (it’s like an online form) and I used a saved signature with (electronically signed by name and date) next to it. I did save the file with my name in it. did you guys see any parts to sign for the board of registered nursing document? Maybe I went too fast and didn’t see it….

For the documents that were just sent…. By “we are requiring this document to be electronically completed” - do you guys think it’s to sign it on the computer, or do they want us to print, sign, save as PDF and upload?

I'm getting a bit nervous about not receiving the email about the gloves... so I went to check my "Degree Works" in GWC Portal and it shows Major: Nursing Registered Nurse, and shows how much I have completed for the major. Hopefully that's a good things that my spot in the program was confirmed.

Same here! No other email besides the confirmation. Makes me nervous!! Yes I’m planning to get BSN. Probably either through a bridge RN to BSN program with a state college or WGU. I’m hoping to do a one year RN to BSN.

Oh yeah, I also replied by clicking her email link in the email... but she didn’t respond to it. (Dr. Alice M). But when I hit “reply” to the email on the third day, she responded right away.

I replied on June 6th, when I got the acceptance letter. I sent another email on the 7th. I sent a third email on June 8th after I got an email reminder to accept my spot. I got the confirmation after the third email. I was worried she didn’t get my emails and would give up my spot too.

It could be the first batch of accepted students on aug 8, those accepted later are aug 19? But it would make sense to me for us to have it all together. Then again 45 people in one room is a lot during covid times...

My letter also says August 8th.

Yes... but I had to email her 3 times before I got a confirmation. ?. Others here have gotten confirmation right away.
