  1. Why do you think you didn't meet the requirements? Just note that they usually don't start looking at the applications so early. You'll definitely know by February 1st. I know it sucks waiting, but use this time to prep. Get a little familiar with anatomy and nursing skills if you can. It will help to pass the time LOL Not too sure about pre-health as I never took it, so not sure. I know they have an online (college stream) version and an in class (university stream) version, but that's all I know. Hey Each semester runs about 16 weeks, give or take a few weeks
  2. Hello! Some do get early acceptance depending on marks, but generally offers don't go out until February 1st. So hang tight as you have a bit of a wait ahead of you. You won't hear anything from the school besides an acknowledgement of your application via email.
  3. For me classes are 3 days on the weekends, Friday to Sunday. Fridays classes are always in the evenings from 6pm to 9pm. Saturday classes range from 8am to 6pm (times vary and with breaks in between) Sunday Classes in the first semester run from 8am to 4pm, again times vary and you'll have 1-2hr breaks in between the classes. Right now theory classes are all online, with labs being in person. This could change in the future with respect to Covid-19 and the state of the province. In practice lab, every semester you'll have certain skills that will be critiqued, and is literally either pass or fail. This also goes for health assessment in semester 2 where you'll do a final full body head to toe assessment that will be critiqued by your professor and is pass or fail. There is about a 3-4 week break in between the semesters, which helps. You'll do clinicals (older adult & mat/child) starting in semester 2 on Sundays, and the hours are supposed to be 12 hrs, but it really depends on your clinical instructor. The program is not easy, however if you stay on top of the weekly content, readings, practicing skills and studying, you'll do fine I treat these courses and it's content like a full time job, so scheduling and time management is your best friend here. Cramming for studying doesn't work when you're trying to be a nurse. It's best to study a little bit all the time to remove any potential stress. You WILL get frustrated, you WILL question your decision to be a nurse and you WILL want to give up. Take it all one day at a time and just recognize your dreams and never lose sight of that. I wish you all the best!
  4. When I applied for May 21' they told me they don't look at averages for Chem and Bio, they just expect you to pass. Just apply early with your midterm grades and you'll get conditional acceptance until the finals grades come through. I did all of my credits through ILC and they were accepted just fine. I like ILC because it's all at your own pace, so you can finish them as soon as you'd like. I too am a mother with many responsibilities outside of school but it is also extremely rewarding. Once you get to clinicals and are able to transfer that theory to practice, the feeling is amazing. I wish you success and peace as you venture towards this new chapter!
  5. Congrats!! Look forward to maybe seeing you in Labs!
  6. I got accepted for may intake regular and flex, but went with flex...I am super excited!!
  7. Thank you so much! Yep I am a mature student those high school kids will definitely have a higher average than me. I got accepted for September Flex and still havent heard anything about May Flex or Regular. I'm going to wait it out, see if they accept me for May. Otherwise I'm still super excited
  8. Thank you so much! That really helps! I'm so nervous while waiting to find out. I applied to both the regular and flex program at Durham, so either program will work out. I really just want to get accepted ?
  9. Hello there, I've applied for the Flex program @ Durham for May 2021. I believe I have a good chance of getting in with 91 average. What was your average when you were accepted? Also, do you mind providing some insight on how classes, lectures and tests are working out for you?? What is your schedule like? I'm so curious!
