  1. lawd have mercy (thank goodness I didn't apply but I did lurk on that thread a few times. it's a trainwreck over there)
  2. HAHAHAHAHAH this is perf me: need to meditate to relieve stress, but too stressed to meditate ?
  3. To put it lightly! I seriously feel pure rage on your behalf LOL.
  4. ummmmmmmmmm....... WTAF?? ? ? ? "later next week"?? just...wow. I can't. I can't think of a single reason it should take that long. oh my god. ?
  5. HUHHH what?? that is so strange!! a little late on their end...and wouldn't they know if you got your decision or not? ? I hope this whole admissions fiasco is not representative of how their nursing school is run! I think "drama" is the perfect word to describe all of this.
  6. aww sorry to hear that. there's nothing worse than seeing no new emails after refreshing like a hundred times. don't lose hope yet! a lot of the time, no news is good news! that's great you have work to keep you busy!! best of luck! ❤️
  7. Ugh, that sucks, I'm so sorry you didn't get your acceptance in time. I would have gladly traded places with you since my deposits are due later this month. ? But UPenn is the bomb!! Their hospital and research is amazing. ? ? ? I would have loved to go there but couldn't get my application ready in time hehee.
  8. Is it just me, or is JHUSON's small cookie-batch "method" ? the most stressful one out there?
  9. Good morning all you beautiful people and happy Friday!!
  10. It's ridiculous you guys are still waiting!! ? If I had to suffer through another day of seeing the acceptances pop up throughout the day only to be met with radio silence on my end, I would have gone insane. Really. I was unable to get anything done this week, and I'm currently trying to reestablish homeostasis. I had a long tear-filled conversation with my mom over dinner. I'm going to go ahead and decline my offer in a few minutes, and I hope that will help speed up the process for the rest of the decisions. I have a feeling it's not going to be long now for the rest of us here. I'm sending you all positive vibes and thoughts (I'm sorry I can't be more helpful)!! We all deserve nothing short of the best!! Much love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
  11. A quick meme for those still waiting (#^@*$!?#&):
  12. @C.emma It's so hard to be confident in our self-worth during these kinds of situations haha. But I agree, each school has a different set of criteria, and although there could be legitimate reasons for a denial (which we can learn from), it's a hugely subjective process. Depends on the reviewers assigned to your application. Could also be yield protection: they thought you were overqualified and wouldn't commit to the school even if you were admitted so they deny you.
  13. Wow, that's rough. ? I am sorry but I mean hey you still got into the #1 nursing school. I would definitely stay on the waitlist for Duke for as long as they give you a definitive decision - it can't hurt!
  14. How about yourself? What are your top choices right now? ?
  15. Hahahah! Yes, I would absolutely go there for the basketball. ? All kidding aside, I'm still waiting on financial aid (I'll most likely need to take out loans anyways) and honestly I'm glad the program is only 4 semesters/16 months. I'm actually in the process of applying to one more ABSN program - crazy I know - and I was also accepted to my state school.
  16. Additional reflections: I actually feel kinda numb right now. I didn't scream when I saw the email. I've been waiting too long to get my hopes up, and it did feel anti-climatic. And after seeing the letter with the offer, it just immediately hit me that I probably won't end up choosing JHU. It is disappointing to want something so much (deep in my heart, JHU was prob my top choice), and to abruptly face the reality that everything I imagined and hoped for will probably not come to pass. It is also hard to swallow the pills that they didn't think very highly of me (sure, highly enough to accept me, but doesn't seem like they really care if I end up attending or not). Even though I was accepted, I still feel inadequate - and no, it's probably not imposter syndrome. ? If anyone wants to chat or has questions, please let me know. Thank you!! ? Hahah aight thank you!!
  17. Hahahaha OK I will do so. Probably not as crazy as today but I 100% believe in and support you all!! ?
  18. Hey friends! I got an acceptance email shortly after my last post. The email is addressed from "Cathy Wilson, Director of Admissions." The first line is "Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing." It looks like they are still sending them out today so keep your heads up! Although I was offered a scholarship, it's unfortunately not enough to justify the costs of the program and I will most likely be turning down the offer. ? I will be thinking of you all who are still waiting for your decisions!! ❤️
  19. Trust me guys, it means literally nothing because I think somehow my email is subscribed to their mailing list. Actually, I'm strongly considering unsubscribing to them at this point. If anything, I thought it was rude and insensitive of them to send that on a day decisions are being released (probably not their intention, but still it feels like a joke ahahhaha). It really blows to login to your email for the 869th time, hanging on a thin thread of hope, actually receive an email addressed from JHUSON, only to realize it's some generic admissions event reminder.
