Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Spring 2022
This is a great question! So when I was looking at places I was told the closer to the water the better so keep that in mind! I currently live in Canton and I absolutely love it. It's some what of a distance from the school, but there's a free shuttle that runs throughout the area that will take you directly there. It's also very much walkable and a super gorgeous walk. Some of the places my friends live that are also great is Mount Vernon, Fells Point, and Brewer's Hill. Another popular place is Federal Hill. It's also great over there; however it is definitely a hike and not really walkable, but I think the housing is a bit cheaper so it would all depend on your priorities!

Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Spring 2022
Hi everyone! Congrats to all those accepted! It's a really exciting time and I'm sure seems surreal. I just started at Hopkins this fall so if there are any questions you may have please feel free to ask! I know it can be totally overwhelming and sometimes answers for certain questions can be hard to come by, so please feel free to ask me anything ?

Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Fall 2021
Hi guys! So I also want to get my DNP and become a nurse practitioner! Specifically a pediatric acute care NP. Hopkins is obviously not cheap, but one of the things that draws me most to the program is those 16 credits. It might not seem like a lot, but if you attend their DNP program it will save you not only money but also give you a lighter course load! I know there’s discussion that all NPs will require a DNP by 2025. Will it actually happen by then? Who knows, but I also don’t want to risk just getting my Masters as a NP and having to go back to school immediately afterwards. I also personally don’t see the point of getting another bachelors, especially because I’m not sure how many direct BSN-DNP programs there are or how long they may take! Finally, my other deciding factor is my specialty. Most other programs require at least a year of experience in a pediatric unit before being able to even enter a pediatric acute care program. Hopkins is a little bit different. They will admit you to their pediatric primary care doctorate program and then once you gain a year of experience they will change your curriculum to the duel primary and acute care track! To me this is huge because it will allow me to work and make an income without taking a break from school. I hope this helped you guys see some of the benefits of the program!

Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Fall 2021
OMG OMG! Congrats to everyone who has gotten in so far! Still waiting to hear on my end and trying not to freak out because I know it’s only the first day they’re sending out acceptances but boy I know my anxiety is going to eat me alive LOL has anyone received an acceptance after the initial batch they sent out around 1? Wondering if that’ll be it today or if we can expect more!

Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Fall 2021
Don’t be worried about this question! I actually discussed it with admissions because like a dummy I accidentally left it blank since it is not required. They told me I can add a document with my response (which I did) but it will actually have no impact on your application! I was told it’s basically a gauge to see how their recruiting events are working and nothing else ?

Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Fall 2021
Hello all! First time poster, long time thread watcher. Reading the posts from the past couple of days have me freaking out quite a bit. I submitted my application about two weeks ago and I just realized that I totally forgot to paste in my “why JHUSON” answer before submitting! I know this wasn’t a mandatory question to fill in and was super limited, like 300 characters, but of course my anxiety is getting the best of me. Do you guys think not having this question answered will completely throw me out of the running? I feel like I’m a super strong candidate and really don’t want something so minor to ruin my chances! Also good luck to all those who will be hearing back soon!
