  1. Ah, okay. Thanks. How'd your interview go?
  2. Just curious, when did you apply and how long did it take for them to respond? I applied 3 days ago
  3. Has anyone heard anything about the PICU fellowship?
  4. Hey, that's awesome! Congrats! Glad I could help. Hope you like DC. IDK if you are getting an apartment, but there are so many rent specials everywhere. Take advantage of them. I certainly did
  5. Hi! I actually took a position somewhere else, but the interview was great. They said it was a zoom interview but it was actually over the phone. Questions were straightforward like "tell me about yourself", "how familiar are you with the O.R.?", "Why the OR?", "What made you chose nursing?", "Did you have any clinical experiences in the OR?". I don't remember them asking situational or behavioral questions. They did ask about my background and how my experience in nursing school was like especially my job as a nursing peer mentor. Other than that, it was great and went by surprisingly quick. I'm sure you'll do fine and they were nice. Good Luck!
  6. Hello. I know this is super late but I was just wondering how long the process was for you? I interviewed a week and a half ago, haven't heard anything yet.
  7. For some of the fellow positions I applied to, I got a call from a recruiter no more than a week or two after applying.
  8. I applied to all of them and got an offer at Mount Vernon. I believe most of the Inova hospitals still have a few New Grad Fellow positions.
  9. I'm actually not from DC as well (from NY) and got a position for a New Grad Fellow/Residency at Inova (basically a hospital system right across the river from DC) and the pay is slightly higher at 32/hr. It's a great hospital system, maybe you might want to try applying there also. Apartments in that Northern Virginia area/DC suburbs are a little cheaper and taxes are lower in Virginia. Definitely still expensive though. Might want to look for a Studio.
  10. Oh man. I feel you My recruiter was a no show twice for a phone interview and canceled my interview for one of the Fellowships a few hours before I was supposed to have it because she filled the position. Hopefully, Fairfax comes through. I'm happy you at least got the interview, that's the most important thing!
  11. Oh nice! Congrats! How's the recruitment process been for you? Mine's been...so and so.
  12. Hello. Sorry if this is late. Just wondering what hospital and unit you applied to and if you like it there. Just got screened by a recruiter and have an interview next week for the New Grad Fellow position at Alexandria Hospital. Thanks for starting this thread!
  13. Just wanted to start a thread for anyone who is thinking about or going into the RN New Grad Explore Program at Rochester Regional Health.
  14. I don't have access to it now, but from what I remember I was just clicking around the application/profile page and saw a link to the battery test. I don't remember exactly where it is but I think it was somewhere on the top right of the page. I may be wrong.
  15. Hi. I'm in the same boat as you. Graduated in May 2020, passed NCLEX in July, started applying everywhere in late August and never got a single call or email since then. I then started applying out-of-state (Washington DC to be exact) beginning of Dec. and soon got an interview/offer for a nurse residency program. It's crazy how quick they were compared to here. I've also inquired about Upstate in Syracuse and they're hiring new grads b/c they're expanding capacity. There's definitely more opportunities outside the Greater NYC/LI area. Good Luck to you!
  16. Thanks! It starts Feb.22. I assume that's for all new nurse Residents for the Winter cohort, but don't quote me on that.
  17. Awesome! CVICU is definitely a great unit. Just got accepted to the OR Bridge/Residency.
  18. Starting a thread for those who applied for the Nurse Residency/Bridge program at Medstar Washington Hospital Center for 2021.
