  1. Hi ! For transcript entry, you must include ALL college courses that you have taken. Once you finish entering all your courses, there will be section where you can choose the courses that will count as your pre-req courses. Also, you can pay NursingCas to enter your grades for you. I personally didn't do it, but its an option that is available to you.
  2. Good luck! ? I’ve noticed that most people found out within a month or so from date of submission, but this can vary if there are items missing/pending.
  3. Excited ! Can’t wait until the first day of clinicals ?
  4. @queenrus Got my acceptance letter today!! I'll be joining you in May ?. Best of luck to everyone still waiting for their letter.
  5. Hi Antho, NursingCas does their own GPA calculation since they do not apply grade forgiveness policies that universities may use. They take ALL courses (including repeats and course failures) into account and use that average, so your transcript GPA may look different than the NursingCas GPA. I wouldn’t bother reaching out to NursingCas since that is their process, just contact UM directly and ask if it will affect you. Also, make sure you check your NursingCas calculations/transcripts to ensure that everything was placed correctly. You can dispute items with NursingCas if you believe it’s not accurate. Hope this was helpful. Good luck!
  6. Hi, the curriculum includes clinicals. However, if you have specific questions regarding the curriculum, you should give the office a call to be sure ?
  7. If you’re going to UM, I recommend living nearby in general. No preference on neighborhood when it comes to distance. The área has everything you could need as it caters to both college students and the families that reside here. For me, a lot of things are walking distance, I walk to Publix instead of driving LOL. US-1 does get congested during peak hours so that’s the only thing I would keep in mind when searching.
  8. No problem, let me know if you have any other questions about the area. I moved down here from Broward about 2 years ago, but my husband has lived here all his life so we are well acquainted ?
  9. Ohhh yes - you have to think about where the kids will go to school and all that. Not sure what age they are, but there are some good schools down here. Sunset is really good and known for their foreign language programs. I don’t have kids yet, but that’s where I want them to go LOL. The traffic IS totally ridiculous in the morning so it’s a lot to think about. Thank you for the link! I’m perusing and liking it!! The plan would be to stay at UM, but this is really good information ?
  10. Oncology is a very rewarding field. The people you meet and get the opportunity to help, is amazing ? I worked in an oncology center for a few years and loved it. The best part was celebrating their last day of chemo. It was beautiful. Boca is lovely ! I have relatives that live up there, it’s very far though to commute to UM. There are apartments available around the area that aren’t too pricey. Not sure if that’s something you guys would be interested in. The plan is to become an oncology ARNP and potentially an adjunct professor of nursing. I worked in training & development so I’m used to teaching and I enjoy it. I think you should go to NP school if that is your passion. There are programs where you can do it part time so you can work/gain experience and do classes. If that is something that works for you.
  11. Girl me too, I’m praying ??. For me, nursing is a career change. I’m pursuing a dream I wanted to pursue years ago. Working with patients was the greatest joy I’ve received in my career. UM is across the street from me and my husband is an oncology nurse there (same specialty I want to pursue). It would be a blessing to be there ? Also, you’ve got this with the pre-reqs! You sound like a smart cookie - I hope we are able to meet in the cohort ?
  12. It’s still being reviewed. I was told that it’s being reviewed this month so I’m hoping I get notified next week or the week after ?
  13. That’s a lot of pre-reqs! Queenrus, if you don’t mind, what is your GPA? I’m currently taking Micro and A&P 2 with lab.
  14. Your email should be coming soon. I applied on 01/08 and I received the under review email this week.
  15. Ohhhh OK. I actually received that email before the application received email. Mine was titled “UM nursing application update,” but it contained the same information that you just mentioned. The next email you should get is the “UM nursing application under review” email. That’s when they give you the timeline ?
  16. I didn’t receive one that said “ready review.” In the email I received, it just said that the admissions committee was reviewing my application and I could have a decision as early as 2-3 weeks.
  17. I received the “UM nursing application under review” email on Wednesday ? They said I should receive a decision within the next 3 weeks so fingers crossed ?? ??
  18. Ah beautiful, that's very exciting, I am happy for you :)) and thank you!! UM is my top choice. I'll definitely come back and post with my update.
  19. That would be AMAZING if I could come as soon as Friday. When I called to ask about review, they told me to wait until I receive the "UM Nursing Application under review" email and thats when I can begin counting down. Hopefully I'll get the decision three days later like you did. Will you be attending UM btw or are you still deciding?
  20. Yes, I received it on 1/12 and my transcripts were officially verified by NursingCAS on 1/15. How long did you wait after you received that email ?
  21. Thank you! It seems that way, hopefully I'll find out by mid-February. Fingers crossed.
  22. Hey guys ? I called yesterday to inquire about application review. They are working their way through applications that were received in December right now. I applied early January and am awaiting a decision. Best of luck to everyone! I hope I can join you soon in the cohort group ?
