UMASS Worcester - GEP 2021
@AMPatts1190 I am happy to inform you that I have been officially accepted into the program for the Mental Health NP route. More than happy! I will private message you for additional tips. Thank you for your help. There is the acceptance letter I have to return and the deposit I have to pay. What courses would you recommend I take while waiting for school to commence, just so I get a hang of things before starting full time?

@AMPatts1190 I was thinking about the pandemic situation and how it has affected many, as reason for low activity on this thread. I will sure create a facebook page and make this site known on there. I am particularly grateful for all the interview tips you sent to me and so far everything looks promising. I will know officially if I have been accepted today. Fingers crossed. FAFSA- I have applied for FAFSA too. Did you get any money directly into your account after the school expenses were sorted? Like to take care of books and other expenses? Thank you.

@AMPatts1190 Thank you so much for taking time to give me helpful tips. I think the deadline will fall on Tuesday the 15th so after then I will start looking our for interviews dates. There's faculty member Ms. Harding's work on Self-Stigma and Veteran Culture which interests me. Now that you are in the program, how do you like it so far? Do you get a break in-between the semesters of your first year and for how long? Again, will the subsequent years be flexible enough for me to get an RN job in order to get some practical healthcare experience? I appreciate your time. Regards.

@AMPatts1190 Thank you so much for your response. I really hope I sail through. Will keep you updated. @ProspectivePMHNP Thank you and congratulations for getting into the program. I sure will welcome more information as it will help me prepare adequately. I will definitely send you a private message. @FutureAdultGeroNP Wow. Thanks for that insight. Appreciated. I am happy for you. The good thing about the program I figured is that you could work after you first year to gain enough experience before you gain your DNP Cert. I surely will link up for more guidance. Thank you!

UMASS Worcester - GEP 2020
Hello Everyone , Thank you all for sharing your experience. I just submitted my application for the GEP-Mental Health DNP route, hoping to start school next year 2021. It is my dream school and dream job. Ms. Brescia was a wonderful help and she reiterated that healthcare experience was not necessary. Did anybody on this platform get through without any healthcare experience? I am military and intend to get some healthcare experience through the "Skills Bridge" program six months before I separate. Also, would getting a B in any of the pre-requisites put you at a disadvantage? Your experiences and answers will help immensely. Thank you all.
