  1. Yes they have. If you have not received anything yet you need to contact them and have them put in a ticket for you.
  2. Yes it is! Is yours as well?
  3. That's awesome! I'm in the NICU!
  4. Congratulations!! Which unit? I have also accepted a position there!
  5. Yes I did! It was for mother baby!
  6. Hi yes I have! It took about a week and a half almost 2!
  7. Have you received any offers yet?
  8. Northside has opened a few of their residencies! How'd your interview go?
  9. Sorry I just saw this! I hope yours went well today! My interview went really well! Thank you!
  10. Thank you for letting me know!
  11. Thank you so much! And that’s so exciting! I was a PCT at CHOA and it’s such a great company to work for. I applied maybe a week before Christmas. It was a couple days after they had posted the residency. I applied for Piedmont Eastside, Rockdale, and Atlanta. I’ve heard back from Eastside and Rockdale so far. Good luck to you!
  12. Hello! I will be graduating in May as well! I have applied to piedmont and will be applying to northside as well when it opens! I've had a phone call with the recruiter from piedmont already and have in person interview on Thursday! I did not expect it to be so soon but I am so excited/ nervous! Have you heard anything back yet?
  13. Yes that’s exactly what happened to me as well but they want your CPR certification to last the whole time you are enrolled in the program. I believe it expires after 2 years. And no problem!
  14. You still have to redo it! I was and still had to redo it.
  15. They give you a bag of stuff for your checkoffs. And for CPR wait until they give you instructions on that. It has to be in a specific time frame
  16. They give you both of those things! You can get your own if you want but it is provided!
  17. Awesome! I’ll let people in our class know so hopefully more people can answer some questions!
  18. You wear your uniform to clinical only but you wear your black scrub pants to lab. Lecture you can wear whatever you’d like.
  19. Yes you can! Yes everyone’s in the same class for lecture but everything else is split up. Honestly we didn’t even get our official schedules until 2 weeks after school had already started. The schedule on banner won’t be your real schedule.
  20. Yes CHOA wants BSN as well but piedmont, northside and well star will hire you. A girl that graduated from Gwinnett tech last year got a job in the NICU I think at northside right after graduation! Also there’s another guy that just graduated as well that works at Northside in the emergency department.
  21. It depends on your clinical instructor, but for the most part you will be doing more tech work and head to toe assessments first semseter because you are just learning the basics. Towards the end of the semester you may be able to give meds after med checkoff but first semester is more of the basic stuff. But every clinical instructor is different. It really depends. And yes I do!
  22. LOL it’s okay! I understand! I was in the same boat! I do recommend y’all making a facebook group for your class! Many of us can join and answer any questions y’all have! And no they are 10 percent of your grade though.
  23. There’s a lot of videos on Youtube that are great at walking through it! Just look up dosage calculations for nursing. That’s how I learned! Nurse sarah on Youtube is a great resource!
  24. No we do Kaplan! At the end of every semester you have to take a Kaplan exit exam for each course. And yes you will get dismissed!
  25. Hey it’s okay! I would say around 1000 if I remember correctly for textbooks and Maybe around 200 for uniforms. And if you don’t have health insurance, you will have to pay for your vaccinations and physical as well! As far as studying, I recommend studying dosage calculations beforehand so you don’t have to worry about that during the semester. You will have a dosage exam every semester that you have to get a 90 and above on. You do get 2 tries though! But otherwise just relax with your family and enjoy your off time! Once the semester starts it’s go, go, go!
