  1. Hi there! I'm not sure if you'll see this but could you update us on how the job turned out? Are you still practicing in the same position? If so, have you gained anymore tips on how to break into an L&D role? Thank You!
  2. Hey. I would say to go ahead and try to get parking in central because parking goes fast sometimes. I spoke to the talon office today about parking. In order to register for parking, you need to be CURRENTLY registered for a class. Just one. And since we can’t currently register for our nursing classes for this coming semester, I would go ahead and just register for any class, so that way you can go ahead and select your parking. It will take 24 hours for their system to recognize that you are registered for a class, but once that time has passed, you should be able to select parking. They have tons left, and more will free up as the fall parking permits get returned. Hope this helps!
  3. Hey! It’s been a minute since I’ve had to have a parking permit with KSU. I just logged on to select a permit and the page says that none are available for 2020/2021. We’re you looking under the parking portal or somewhere else? I’m kinda worried now LOL
  4. I honestly don’t know much about GSU’s program, except that it’s difficult to get into. So if you were able to make it into both programs, congratulations! If it were me, I’d compare the cost of each program, the program length of time, the commute. the connections that each program has to local hospitals, if you want to continue your degree post BSN I’d look at which school offers more, and which school’s vibe and values, matches what you’re looking for.
  5. Whoever lied to you should feel ashamed of themselves. It’s hard and there doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason, but I’ve seen people with extremely high stats get denied at KSU and accepted at Emory, Georgia State, and other schools, while others with lower stats than myself, get in first try.
  6. Hey everyone. I wasn’t checking my email yesterday so I didn’t get to update y’all. I got accepted into the Spring 2021 Traditional BSN track! I can’t wait to see and meet y’all! These were my stats: 3.45 GPA 3.2 Science GPA and a one and only TEAS Attempt of 84.7 On a very important side note: Although I completed every single prerequisite, scored pretty well on my TEAS, and had been at KSU for the past five years, with a nice come back in my science courses (I received a C at both AP1 Lecture attempts, and a C in O-Chem lecture, but later earned an A in AP2 lab/lecture and a B in micro lecture with an A in lab), I was denied my first time applying to the WellStar school of nursing. I was blessed to have been accepted to Mercer’s Georgia Baptist but was holding out for financial reasons. Nothing changed from my first attempt to my last (as far as classes/scores go for KSU’s nursing program requirements). All of this to say: Don’t give up on yourself. Getting into nursing school is hard, but not impossible. Try out other options and see if a different school is also possible. And Goodluck!
  7. I think before it was around 80 to 90 people. But I know that they received a grant from WellStar this year, to increase their numbers for the next few years. So hopefully they’ll accept about 100-120 now.
  8. I haven't been actively a part of this thread, but I've been watching everyone's posts. I haven't received anything yet, but when I do, I'll head here first to let y'all know.
