  1. I just got pushed back to this class. I don’t know if it’s because I am part of the other class, but this will not pull up for me. Weird!
  2. The last email they sent said to drive. Seemed to discourage flying if possible. I think I’m going to rent a car and drive and drop it off nearby and Uber ??‍♀️
  3. How is it going? Hope you all are feeling better!!
  4. Woohooo!! Congrats! That’s so awesome!
  5. Glad to hear. I heard the second dose is a little rough. Which one did you get? Ugh, sorry to hear that, but glad you’re vaccinated!
  6. I have had my first one, my second one is two days. I had moderna. Sore arm was only side effect. We are headed overseas, so I figured it would be required at some point. They sent out numbers at our hospital and about 55% of our staff took it. I think all the docs I work directly with did, as well as anesthesia.
  7. Dang! So sorry, that totally sucks! Hope you are feeling OK ?. Hopefully you don’t have to stay back. Keep us updated! @djmatte congratulations for getting everything finished! Hoping you get a date soon!
  8. How’s it going?!?
  9. Safe travels! Good luck and can’t wait to hear all about it! You’re already amazing for pulling everything together so quickly!!
  10. I got mine today too! Seems the wait was worth it, I got Lakenheath!
  11. Finally received my OTS date via email. Going Feb. No word on assignment. How/when did you find out?
  12. I was told the same for OB, so I applied OB with clinical as a backup. Even when I talked with the OB consultant, she couldn’t tell me how many spots were there. She did say if there wasn’t at least one slot, then she wouldn’t be interviewing me though. So hopefully if you get a NICU consultant interview, that’s a good sign. I reached out via facebook to several active duty OB nurses who were nice enough to answer about a million questions. The recruiter didn’t have a good grasp of OB and I’m assuming the same for NICU. I got a ton of info from them and a more realistic picture of the AF needs for OB and what would likely happen. I’d look on facebook and see if there is a NICU page. I think they all start with “Unofficial AF...Nurses.”
  13. I’m sorry to hear that as well. I’m sure with a little more experience you’ll be a shoe in, especially for ICU. Everything for a reason though. I’m pretty sure I was meant to be born in Italy...I’m so excited for you to have that The NPs on here can probably tell you better, but from what they said, NP boards are rolling so depending on when you applied you would fall into the next board and be notified. Their results were much faster than ours. Nurse boards are in October and January normally, but the January board has been pushed back to February. They are also rolling out a new recruiter thing, so there are several recruiters based on where you are at in the process. Once selected, we are on a ‘phase 3’ recruiter, whatever that means. The switch is definitely frustrating, but that seems to be the name of the game here. Good luck on your boards!
  14. I’m sorry to hear that as well. I’m sure with a little more experience you’ll be a shoe in, especially for ICU. Everything for a reason though. I’m pretty sure I was meant to be born in Italy...I’m so excited for you to have that experience. Aviano isn’t an option with my specialty but a girl can dream. Congrats on your engagement and maybe you can have an amazing Italian wedding ?
  15. Dang! Cutting it close! Awesome that they did that for you. Good luck!
  16. Awesome! Congrats! So exciting to be finding out and moving forward!
  17. Mine was a little over a month. Went MEPS in Aug and had interviews last week of September.
  18. That’s a long time to be away! Where are you stationed again?
  19. I put OCONUS. You? I wonder if it’s because of dependents too. I had to fill out another form for their medical and education history because they said won’t put you somewhere that doesn’t have the medical or educational resources to support them. Hoping soon. I’m such a planner and this is torture LOL
  20. Congrats! I still haven’t gotten anything ?? no word from the new recruiter even... So frustrating.
  21. Good luck!
  22. Hmmm, I’m going with a bad sign that I don’t know what a scroll is. Talked to mine today, he said I’m getting a new recruiter, and no OTS date or assignment yet...??‍♀️
  23. Wow! Jackpot! What type of nursing? Did you find out both at the same time?
  24. My parents were just down there, it actually looked pretty nice. Did you put CONUS as preference or OCONUS?
  25. Weird. My recruiter said I wasn’t going January. He said they are trying to have all October board selects to OTS no later than the March class. I talked to him week of thanksgiving and he thought it would be 2-3 weeks before we hear anything. He also said there are an average of 5-10 days between graduating OTS and having to be at your assignment base. He mentioned that some of the classes this year didn’t even get to go home and had to go straight to base because of covid. Frustrating to know nothing when I need to do things like sell my house...
