  1. Thank you Silverdragon102 for your response. I would be keen to hear from others experiences too. It would be interesting to hear of people that have been educated within the US who perhaps also didn't meet the criteria and were either denied or given a license to practice.
  2. Hi all - I am a British trained nurse and I have recently passed my NCLEX that I applied for through the New York state board of nursing. Upon application to the NYSED I knew that I did not have all of the necessary clinical/ theory in peds/ obs/ psych but I was advised to apply anyway and sure enough it went through without any issues. I have now decided that I would prefer to live and work in California and was looking to apply through endorsement, but I have heard that the California BON is the strictest in the US when it comes to verifying credentials. I have trawled through the forums and have come across many people who have been refused due to their lacking in (for example) med/surg, and they have then had to apply to a university such as Unitek for a hugely expensive top up course to make up the minimum required hours. My question is this - has anyone successfully made it through the California BON credentialing process without all of the required minimum theory/ practice hours in OB/ Peds/ Psych? Has anyone had the experience that I had with New York, but in California instead? If so I would feel a whole lot more confident starting my California endorsement process. If not I am unsure if I can justify paying such a huge amount for a top up course.
