Oh no! I’m in the Phantom flight and one of our flights is in quarantine for COVID. We had a member and their roommate go to quarantine the first week.

*UPDATE* I got my orders!! Fly out Sunday. There’s no DEROS, does others orders show a DEROS? Unsure yet of how many years I’m doing- they are still working on all my paperwork for my commissioning tomorrow. My recruiter said no sign on bonus for ER right now.

Is there a bonus for ER? My recruiters hasn’t mentioned anything to me.

That’s awesome! I’m not a good example. I’ve been calling AFPC, MPF, total nurse force, anyone to try and get info about my orders and I fly out in 5 days, oath in 3 days...Usually orders will come via e-mail or recruiter will give you the info.

8 weeks! I saw a couple nurses last class had 5 weeks but stated they are phasing it out.

@Fly-T-Nurse Ya my recruiters were stumped, they said everything has been done on their end for awhile now, they didn’t know why I didn’t have orders yet, which is why they didn’t tell me my assignment. The I got that e-mail..I do need my orders to do my oath and then book my flights and hotel so I’ll need them by Thursday-3 days out at the latest. They did say HQ probably is unaware I leave in a week versus think I have until my OTS date to get things sorted. That’s great! I got my first wings e-mail about 35 days before my class date and some people in my class just got theirs or still haven’t received it yet. So I think you’ll see yours sometime in January.

Oh man! There’s something going on with those scrolls. I hope it goes through and you can get orders soon and not wait til the last second like me! ????

Update: I woke up to an e-mail from a Col last night and have been in zoom meetings, emailing, and texting all day. They had an issue with a piece of my paperwork that is hopefully fixed now. So obviously no orders yet. Hoping by Tuesday. I fly out next Sunday!

My husband’s command didn’t believe it either! They have a training they need to schedule/ know what’s going on with him for deployment schedule etc. RAF Lakenheath, England! My husband is at RAF Mildenhall so we’d be staying where we are at. Which will make things a lot less stressful overall! I was really surprised, I thought for sure they’d be pulling me to the states with COVID. I got some immunizations yesterday and even the nurse thought they didn’t have much use for me here and I’d be getting elsewhere. But now we have to wait for official orders and see what that does to our time out here, we’ll probably have to add onto our 4 year tour.

After my husband’s command reaching out, I got an tentative assignment! No orders yet. 10 days til I leave! They are hoping to get orders by Monday (6 days out ?) so I can book my travel and hotel for OTS.

@rToney17 It’s possible!! I’m currently overseas and the last time I worked in an ER was 2016! (I was fortunate to have a lot of great experience prior to moving overseas). I’d recommend joining Red Cross right away and start asking about volunteering as a nurse at the hospital there. Hospital spots can take some time to get but stick with it and be as active in the community as possible and reapply! I’ve been working at WIC on base at my last base and now this one. I was also offered a volunteer ER nurse position at the first Navy base I was at but it took some time and networking.

3 weeks isn’t bad at all! I’m from Minot, North Dakota LOL so I forget not everyone is used to driving through that. I agree I’d just ship your car!

I got notified of my class date by an automated e-mail! My recruiter was unaware I had a class date until I told him. I’m suppose to have a different team help me with the post process but none of that has really happened so I’ve just continued contact with my recruiter.

@Kt2k I ended up having my chief nurse interview a week before my package was due and I was very proactive asking my recruiter about scheduling it. He was having difficulty due to COVID and people PCSing. I somehow ended up scheduling it myself by emailing the col directly regarding and letting my recruiter know. I was unaware there was another ER consultant interview needed until my recruiter messaged me one night to reach out to schedule it. I WhatsApp’d the ER consultant to schedule and he called me 5 minutes later.

That’s very true! Hopefully if you can ship it before OTS, it could be ready for pick up after graduation! Amen to that! I’m getting antsy to book my hotel and flights and handle everything else!

Also, I see we are required to have black mechanics gloves! Just ordered mine, hopefully they arrive in time LOL.

Oh ya I just saw that! Watch the set up video! I was SO confused why mine wasn’t working and why accessing the courses was so difficult until I watched that, a lot to do with settings and inputting information. Yikes!...I am lucky I can leave my husband to deal with the house, cars, baby, and animals LOL?. I just hope if I am going stateside, I can get a CDC spot and they can get moved quickly so I don’t have to be apart from my baby even longer. Are you going to drive? Shipping a car can take some time. Our last PCS I drove up solo from southern Spain to England about a 10 hour drive, 24 hour ferry, and another couple hours drive. It was crazy with the language barrier, I was pregnant, and had my large dog and cat- my husband was TDY in the states- but once we arrived it was really nice to have a car right away. I forget how long it took for my husband to get his car last time, I think around 2 months or more but it was from the US to Spain. Not sure how long they take to get it to Alaska.

Oh man! Really cutting it close... same I’m wondering if I need to be preparing to move or not! Hopefully you don’t have to quarantine as well. I saw we need to print off our precourse material certificates. Do you know do to this? I’m currently half way through, the courses show being crossed out and completed at the bottom but no certificate that I can see to print.

Got a 2nd OTS email today! This one has lot of very specific information regarding the documents needed at arrival, COVID screening etc, memo in the event of a positive etc. Mentioned NO mess dress for the Jan 5th class. This is due to they are not doing a usual group event. So they will decide as each class comes, I had already picked mine up just in case. Graduation is still a closed event, no family allowed. Still no orders! I can only think my mil to mil situation is maybe the reason... just so crazy how I seem to be the last one without them, in the first group to go, and having to quarantine ?12 days or less.

My husband is stationed at RAF Mildenhall, England. So I’d be slotted at RAF Lakenheath if they put me out here. They are super close bases about 10 minutes apart just Lakenheath has the hospital.

It’s a mix of feelings! Because dealing with a PCS to the states would be crazy right now since I couldn’t come back after training and we have a toddler but also, my husband has been overseas since 2014 and we really don’t want to add onto our tour here- April 2023 is our current rotation date. Fact: the last time I’ve been to America was 2017!! Crazy I’ll be going back but I still don’t get to stop and see family. Everytime we keep trying to go home, my husband gets deployed or now covid and we can’t. So our family and friends are super ready for us to be stateside to meet our toddler.

I was hoping for some info today too! ??. I’m at 13 days or less to when I need to be there, kind of crazy!
