hi all! I'm currently an new RN working at a children's hospital in pedi renal/dialysis. I started in october and accepted this offer because it was at my dream hospital and I didn't receive any other pedi offers. through nursing school clinicals, I fell in love with nicu from the rotations I had at my current hospital. I'm still quite bummed about not being able to be in the nicu ? I was wondering if any of you all have advice for a new nurse that wants to move to the nicu within my current hospital. I'm certified in NRP and PALS, have had clinicals in my hospital's nicu, and have had leadership positions in multiple pedi organizations. I've heard some people say that getting stable certified and volunteering in the nicu may help. I am definitely interested in doing both of those things but wasnt sure if there's more I can do to increase my odds. thank you all so much!
