I had a second interview on Tuesday and they extended an offer today! ? during the original interview last week they did say the process would take a few weeks, so you could definitely still hear from them!!

Yes they did! I’m not sure where to check application status, all of this has been via email!

Interviews are starting to roll in and I have some questions for those of you who've been through it before! As experienced nurses, what advice would you offer a new grad on what questions to ask during an interview? What is a proper way to "defer/think about" an offered job until interviews with other hospitals are complete, and for how long is "thinking about it" acceptable? I don't want to seem full of myself, but I also want to hear out other facilities (rather than automatically accepting the first job offered)

Just trying to get a feel on how many fellow May 2021 BSN grads are applying for Nurse Residency programs already! I applied to a few 3-4 weeks ago but haven't heard back (I know - probably too soon to expect a response..I'm kind of impatient ?)

I’m a soon to be grad (May 2021), and have applied to 3 jobs over break to relieve that burden during my last semester of nursing school. How long can I expect to wait to hear back from the hiring institution (if at all)? Thanks!

I'm a senior male nursing student on track to graduate in May 2021. It's crazy that I should start thinking about the application process already! A lot of my classmates have had that "aha" moment where they knew what specialty area they want to work in (Peds, Cardiac, etc); however, I have yet to have that moment. I'd ultimately love to be an ED nurse (I'd prefer some sort of med-surg experience first to get comfortable with skills though), and would love to try to pursue a travel nurse gig sometime after the required experience. What advice do you current nurses have for a soon-to-be-graduating nursing student on what floors to apply to, or the application process in general? Thanks!!

Thanks for all the responses! Ideally I'd love to pack up and head to a suburb of Denver, CO (who doesn't want to go to CO?!), but I've heard the nursing market is quite saturated there. I've done quite a bit of research on NLC states and the job market in those states, Kansas City, MO and Conroe, TX more so than other cities. But a lot of positions advertise "HIRING NEW GRADS" then halfway down the page it says "6-12 months experience required". Any words of advice on any of this?

I'm a final year BSN student in Nebraska looking to relocate out of state somewhere after graduation, but am wondering how feasible that is? I know it goes without saying: wait until you secure a job to move. My question is: in your experience, what is the best move for a new grad nurse (location wise)? There are plenty of hiring hospitals in my city (Omaha), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to venture out of NE for a little while. Is it best to bite the bullet and stay in NE for another 1-2 years, or is it common for a new grad to score a job out-of-state?
