Hi, the only book that you definitely need is the Nursing Care Plan book, that one is used a lot throughout various terms. The Physical Assessment book was also helpful (since I am a visual learner, and it contained a lot of pics). The other books are not needed, as everything comes from the PowerPoints.

I honestly did not consider ADN or BSN programs, as I already had my bachelors. For one, many hospitals do take ADNs but, they require them to get their BSNs within a certain amount of time. The thing about that is, that BSNs/MSNs are preferred over ADNs since hospitals know that they don't have to worry about possibly replacing an ADN if they do not obtain their BSN. I applied at DePaul and Rush, but decided going to Rush because Rush is a known teaching hospital and healthcare is all they do. So, I knew I would be going into an environment where healthcare is their only priority. I cannot speak to finances, as everyone's situation is unique and different. Rush does offer scholarships and grants, you should reach out to their financial aid office, as they have been very helpful in my opinion. Many of my classmates got roommates and others commuted to campus. Of course it may have been easier on my cohort to stay at home, as we were mostly on Zoom the first 3 terms, it wasn't really until Term 4 that classes were back to in person for us. Rush is not perfect, but I do not regret my choice of coming here. Being in Rush has opened a lot of doors for me. They expect students to perform 100 volunteer hours (they call it professional development hours), while this seems like a lot, there are many opportunities to and it's a great way of networking. On top of that graduating from Rush allows you to sit for the CNL exam, which is a great plus!

Yes tomorrow (10/9) is the decision date. I am feeling anxious and wish everyone good luck! My interviewer said that they will email us and it should be in before noon. I hope that all of us on this thread is accepted! Good luck again to everyone!

@caitlin mcelhaney Did you hear back from DePaul yet? DePaul doesn't interview at all, they either accept or deny you LOL. uhm, my interview with Rush is this Friday the 11th, still prepping for it. Are you from in-state (IL) or out of state?

@aostrega I just realized it was sent to me in the same email that contained the info letting me that I had been selected for an interview. If you have not been selected for an interview just yet, I am sure that once you do, they will do another Q&A for that group of interviews.

@aostrega They sent out an email about 2 weeks ago, I would say with information to RSVP for a Q&A, and they gave us an access code, though, I am not sure if the access code is personalized or a generic one. Q&A will be for us to ask questions to current students of the program. It is this tomorrow from 6pm-7pm.

@Alex HC LOL, it seems we both applied to the same schools. As we are also on the Rush thread. What is your top choice? Mine is Rush, but I feel less stressed knowing that I got into the DePaul program already. And no, I never got an actual phone call, I just received an email letting me know that I had been accepted. Are you from Illinois or from out of State?

@Alex HC I am actually practicing right now LOL. I just looked at past forums for possible interview questions and I have a friend who is a NP, so she has a lot of experience with interviews for schools, so she also is helping me out. Question, for that Q&A, how the heck do you join the room? LOL, I have never used Webex. Do you just click join, and then type in the access code they gave us? PS: what time is your interview on the 11th? Mine is at 9AM.

Hello Everyone, I was actually accepted into the DePaul Rosalind Franklin campus for Spring 2021. I was first accepted into it for the. Fall 2020, but deferred my seat for the next semester, so my seat was saved.
