  1. Hey! So I had my last assignment marked by the 25th of August, and I got a notification on the 28th that my transcript has been sent over. I think in total it took about a week for it to show up on my student center. I was advised to call UofC once I was done my course to make sure they had initiated the transcript request. Also you can request your transcript from Athabasca and then email [email protected] to tell them to email your transcript to [email protected] instead of mailing. The latter process took about 5 business days. I did both methods to make sure my transcripts were received in time. Hope this helps!
  2. Sound good thank you for your help! And also 5 shots, ouch! Glad you're done with that part!
  3. are you in calgary? Did you just go to any clinic?
  4. Thank you!! That table is super helpful since it can be confusing with the accelerated program. It makes sense to apply for Winter semester and then Spring semester separately.
  5. UofC also has a bunch of GPA boosters, and since classes are online you wouldn't need to travel for them. Some that I can remember are: ASTR 207/209, GRST 211, ARHI 203, RELS 200/201/203, SAST 203, DNCE 341/345. Just double check the profs on ratemyprof since sometimes the course depends on the prof teaching it. Hope this helps!
  6. Did you apply for Winter 2021 or did you also apply for the Spring semester? It's confusing since we have class all year except for Summer.
  7. So UofC uses 10 courses in total to calculate your admission GPA not your overall GPA for a degree or program you have taken. First its the 5 prerequisite courses which could have been done recently or in your first degree or even as a separate course. Then it will your 5 newest courses you have taken, so it won't matter again if they are part of your first degree or at another school, just whichever were the 5 most recent ones you took. I hope this helps!
  8. No package yet...maybe they are waiting to accept everyone first? Not sure, just got the acceptance email and that's all. Oh yeah CPR, N95, police check and vaccines...so much to do before class starts!!
  9. Congrats simone and DNP!!
  10. Has anyone got their admission package yet?

Hello everyone, So I had a degree in science and I currently got admission into an accelerated nursing program. I eventually want to become a NP. I was wondering what kind of things should I focus on to make sure I can get admitted into a NP Program while I'm in school. Is there a particular unit I should focus on (ex. med/surg) that would help me more? Any help would be really appreciated since I'm so new to this and still learning.
  12. Hey! I was degree-holder. Hope you hear from them soon! Also I believe they take 2-4 weeks for students and up to 6 weeks for international so just a little extra time maybe.
  13. Hey guys here is the handbook available on UofC website: https://nursing.ucalgary.ca/sites/default/files/teams/5/BN Student Handbook F20-W21.Final_.pdf It mentions all our courses, CPR, N95 mask fit, Police screening, uniforms and even extra costs like books and supplies. Hope this helps some of you out.
  14. Woah, is that for the whole year or just one term (4 courses)? And are you an international student? Mine was calculated to be around 3k per term.
  15. I hope we get them soon!! I was reading last years forum and they mentioned a bunch of things we need to get done before January like vaccines, N95 fittings and police checks.
